Thursday's card was an open card with some graded
fillers.
Beat
Them King was quickly into his stride and made all to land the
opening 430m open. Barnfield
Joe kept on and finished second. Westmead
Prince was slowly into stride and could not get competitive.
Noirs
Denis made all to run out a decent winner of the STANDARD -
Division 3. War
Of Attrition plodded on for second after finding trouble.
Bitofamonkey
led from the first bend and landed the NOVICE STAYERS race. He
didn't run like a strong stayer and will need to improve to make his
mark over 6 bends. Genesis
Jose led him up to the first bend and kept on for second.
Winkys
Don made all to land the STOW HURDLE - Division 2. Ceroc
Lambada challenged at half way and held every chance, but made a
mistake at the last hurdle. Ceroc
Lambada stayed on for third.
Eye
Onthe Flame led from the 2nd bend and landed the STOW HURDLE -
Division 1. Billsdad
Bill ran on and went down by a head.
Placid
Jill made all to land a weak 6 bend open. Droopys
Curbs was crowded at the 1st bend and kept on at one pace for
second. Like
Hot Cakes was knocked over at the 1st bend after a modest break.
Cobra
Striking broke well and led round in the STOW STANDARD -
Division 2. He faded on the run in and was caught by both Directors
Choice and Barnfield
Leo. Cobra
Striking has been a brilliant dog, but is getting on a bit
and has now had 85 races. His potent early pace should see him win a
fair few more yet. Directors
Choice is now 6 from 18 at the Stow.
Cleo
set the early pace in the STOW BITCHES - Division 2, but couldn't
sustain the gallop and was headed at the last bend. She was one pace
on the run in. Darley
Shean stayed on and led from the last bend after a slow start. Davieboys
Jo checked at the 3rd bend and kept on for second.
Genesis
Alix looked a penalty kick in the STOW MARATHON and she didn't disappoint.
She cracked out and made all The cumbersome Swift
Leon kept on for second, running wide at the bends, as normal.
Westmead
Diver, whose brother Westmead
Osprey won earlier, made it a double for Bob Morton & Nick
Savva when following up last weeks win. He was briefly headed by Carlsberg
Flash off the 2nd bend, but mastered that rival and ran out a
good winner. Rockburst
Mason stumbled at the start, before keeping on for second.
Noirs
Ted returned to his best with as superb run in the STOW STANDARD
- Division 1. He flew to the corner and made all. He did cramp near
the line, but was well clear at the time. Annual
Scholes ran a fair race staying on for second. Mystical
Haka couldn't get to the front and ran below par.
Lastinfirstout
made all to land the S2 finale. He ran wide at a couple of bends and
had 2 1/2 lengths in hand at the line, of the staying on Never
Say Lucky.
