Saturday marked the retirement of trainers Gary Baggs and Peter
Rich. Both are handing over to their respective daughter & son, so
both will continue to be involved.
Mimicking Meecha looked a good thing on her 6 bend debut on the
S3, after running well down to the pick up on her last 4 bend run.
She went off a well backed 6/4 shot and ran away with the race. She
was led for a few bends by
Annandale Dixie, but
Annandale Dixie did not see which way
Mimicking Meecha went.
Terry My Pal set the early pace in the H1, but he tired from the
3/4 and was caught on the run in.
Eye Onthe Flame led on the run in despite hitting the last
flight.
Roancarrig View plugged on for second.
Bell Tornado showed pace last time and looked another likely
looking fav to win tonight. He led off the second bend and came home
better than on his debut last time.
Pennys Lindsay led to the 2nd bend, but did no not take the
bends fluently. She kept on for 2nd.
The M2 looked a match beforehand between
Bell Tempest, who was dropped in class, but not running well and
Irate Kate, who had won and M1 and a couple of 8 bend opens some
time again. It turned out a mismatch as
Irate Kate checked at every bend.
Bell Tempest ran out an easy winner.
Greenfield Fawn led early in the S1, but checked at the 4th and
faded out of it.
Cranham Girl led between the last two bends and held on by half
a length from
Gilbeyhall Rodge, who stayed on well for second, afetr a slow
start.
I Dont Clare landed the A4, returning from lameness after 126
days. She was not fluent at the bends and was headed on the back
straight by
Beat Them George. She kept on pulling and led again from the 3rd
bend.
So Said He kept on and finished second.
Lethal Freddie destroyed his rivals in the P4. He broke well,
pulled clear and won 4L in a decent 28.73. He's surely an open racer
in the making.
Lethal Freddie ran a lot better this time and kept on for
second.
Lode Star broke well and led round in the S1.
Clear Decision came home well after a slow start and done him
right on the line
Journey Back made the most of a class drop for an authoritative
display in the A3. His kennelmate
Confident James towed him up to the 3rd bend, but didn't see
which way
Journey Back from the 3rd bend.
Whoosh Im Gone put in a better display in 2nd and appears to be
adjusting to the grade he's worked his way up to.
Maneen
Haka shot out of the traps and led up in the A1. He faded on the
run in and both the eventual winner, Tanner
Butler and Reverse
Pace went past him. Tanner
Butler got a clear run and held off Reverse
Pace, who was slightly crowded rounded the first 2 bends. There
was half a a length between them at the line.
Tilly
broke best and led round in the S2 finale, but was one paced from
the last bend and was taken near the line by Poachertink,
in the usual competitive closing race. Mitzie
made some late ground, but could never get on terms.
