Thursday's card featured the semi finals of the
Ladbrokes Arc.
Mistley Colonel showed some promise on his debut and was sent
off 2/1 fav in the opening P9.
Chamour led a file of slow starters, bit was quickly outpaced by
Mistley Colonel down the back straight. After a modest start,
Mistley Colonel moved off at the 1st bend and paced up well to
lead from half way.
Chamour kept on for second.
Eye Onthe Flame ran out a decent winner of a poor H2.
Westridge Faith led him to the first bend, but spent to much
time in the air at the hurdles.
Siesta Romeo was another who was far too high at the hurdles.
This accentuated the winning distance of
Eye Onthe Flame.
The H1 wasn't one of the better races.
Marcus Brutus led round, but sadly looked to go lame at the 3/4.
Watercourse Boy challenged and was crowded at the 3/4, but ran
ok. After a slow start,
Castleivy Sand got a lucky run to lead from the 3/4.
There was a distinct lack of early pace in the S3.
Double Pickins led from the 2nd bend after an average start and
ran out a comfortable winner.
Baran Kylie faded from the last bend, but still held 2nd.
Droopys Zach ran out a very convincing winner of the P8. (5 ran)
He must have a sore neck, he has the action of a rocking horse!
Imperial Singer plugged on for second.
Jumokee Prince made all to land the A7. After an average break,
he paced up well into the bend and made all. He did fade near the
line, but was comfortably clear.
Kinda Flashy stayed on for second.
Jonos Patience turned in 2nd, but faded from the 3rd bend. It
was disappointing that he failed to build on his promising first
effort, where he railed really well.
Milldean Flash was sent off 8/11 Jolly in the Ladbrokes.com ARC
- 1st Semi Final. He mistimed his break and was led early by
Centaur Decree.
Milldean Flash gamely ran on and led from the 3rd bend.
Centaur Decree held every chance and went down by a neck.
Arthurs Joy kept on after a slow start. He faded near the line
and held on for 3rd qualifying spot.
Bower Turbo started very slowly, but kept on and just failed to
grab a spot in the final.
Erinaceous Rapid was badly crowded at the 2nd bend.
Flying Jack was also crowded at the 2nd bend, but looked
outclassed in any case. I was surprised by the winning time, it did
not look like a fast race at all.
True Frankie started best and led round in a modest S1.
Bold Talent took over from the third bend, but again failed to
see out the trip.
True Frankie picked up the lead again and went on to score.
Eye Onthe Jewel plugged on for second.
Blue Screamer led round after a pile up in the A5. He held on by
a diminishing neck, as she faded and
Jeremy stayed on for second.
Droopys June attracted plenty of support after a layoff and
might be one to consider next time.
Blonde Jeannie had been faultless in the comp so far and was
sent off 7/4 fav. She cracked out and made all.
Kilkenny Lonjack turned handy and held every chance, but
Blonde Jeannie gamely pulled out more.
Kilkenny Lonjack may do better over further, but will not be put
over a trip until after the Derby.
Swhimasdylan got a nice clear run round and finished 3rd. It was
a great achievement for him to make the final.
Cobra Striking was not fluent at the 3rd bend and faded on the
run in.
Ronnies Earner fell out of the trap and that was that for him.
Mustang Garcia was outpaced and badly crowded at the 1st bend.
Synone Rubin led at the 1st bend on the draw, in a filed of slow
starters, in the A2.
Black As Coal drove the bend well and led from the second bend.
Black As Coal is perhaps not the most genuine and he was worried
out of it on the run in by
Synone Rubin.
There was a really good field for the A1, with 3 Arc eliminations
taking part.
Obafemi led round, but was outpaced and crowded at the 3rd bend.
Stone Mole Spark ran on and led from the 3rd. He's a nice dog,
but is often a little lacking in the early pace department.
Stone Mole Spark showed decent early pace, but was one paced
from the last bend.
The typically poor finale (an S3) was taken by
Airtech Choice. There was a few leaders and this was an
eminently forgettable race.
