Special Liberty ran out a decent winner of the opening A8. She
led on the draw (T1) and pulled clear and made all. She won by an
impressive 6 1/2 lengths and looks a bright prospect.
Squires Son plugged on for second.
Marcus Brutus set a good early pace in the H2. He's not been
getting home of late and repeated the running here. As he faded from
the last hurdle,
Castleivy Sand came and picked him up, just as he dod 5 days
earlier.
Beat
Them King led off the second bend in the 430m open, but had no
answer to
Westmead Prince, as he came and picked him in on the run in.
This was a fair run from
Westmead Prince, since
Black Taxi ran rails from his outside in trap 3 and they cam
together on the run in.
The 6 bend open was not strong contest and
Tilly was sent off favourite.
Tilly led for a couple of bends, but was headed at the 3rd bend
by
Lindys Girl and was one paced from the 5th bend.
Lindys Girl was caught late on by
Iron Man.
Iron Man had not been too fluent round the bends (again) but got
up and won by a head.
Malbay Ronaldo had a 5/9 strike rate in Ireland and had a decent
open race time on his card. He was sent off a generous looking 4/1
shot and made a mockery of those odds, making all the running.
Wilcos Henri ran a decent race in second and went down by half a
length.
Phoenix Gerry was not fluent round the first two bends, but kept
on ok for third.
Versailles went round in front in the A4 but could not (or more
likely would not) get on with the job.
Treacle Drum took over on the run in and went on to score. This
wasn't much of a race and was further weakened by the withdrawal of
Baran Como.
Like Hot Cakes was an impressive winner of the 6 bend open. She
really opened up off the 2nd bend and is one o keep on the right
side of.
Westmead Liz stayed on for second.
Treacle Rose showed her trademark early pace and led round in
the next 4 bend open.
Hackney Carriage came home well and picked her up between the
last two bends.
Treacle Rose kept on and lost nothing in defeat. (other than the
race)
Seanis Lad showed super early pace in the next 4 bend open. He
moved off at the 1st bend and pulled clear. He came back to the
field on the run in and held on by half a length.
Marwills Silver drifted off at the 2nd bend, before pacing up
well down the back straight. His turn will come soon.
Onbir Dan ran a decent enough race in third.
Baran Miami was an impressive trap to line winner in the
marathon. He had the aid of a vacant trap one on his inside and made
no mistake here.
Riverside Yank plugged on for second.
Jangos Snowdrop took an eternity to make ground on the others
and finished 3rd.
Missed A Train made all to land the next 4 bend open. He's a
scopey dog and should do ok.
Vito Blue kept on for second.
Droopys Patty was a little disappointing back in 3rd.
Vigorous Whitney just about made the front in the A3 and
quickened from the second bend. She faded on the run in after being
headed by
Noirs Speedy.
Noirs Speedy started bvery slowly, ran to the middle, but came
home well to lead on the run in.
Whoosh Im Gone seems to have found his level and could not go
with these.
Clonbrin Mai started best in the closing FEBRUARY NOVICE STAYERS
(DIV 2).
Glaseen Boy took over on the run to the third bend and went on
to score.
Blues Wish rode a bump a the first bend and stayed on for
second. The early leader
Clonbrin Mai, faded on the run in. I think they should end the
nights on a high with a decent race. I have no idea why they end the
evening with these moderate contests.
