Milldean Flash was an impressive trap to line winner of the
opening 430m open. He has a fine strike rate of 15/33 at the Stow.
Black Taxi didn't come away at all well on his inside and this
helped
Milldean Flash.
Ringview Rascal came home a respectable second, albeit 5 and a
bit lengths behind the impressive winner.
Barnfield Haveit started best and led round in the 3rd ARC TRIAL
STAKES (DIV 5). He did not get home and faded from the last bend.
Fear Becks kept on and led from the 4thbend for his first win at
the track on his 14th attempt.
Toosey Tops statred clowly, got a clear run and kept on for
second.
Firm Handed made all and ran out a decent winner of the hurdles
open.
Firm Handed is 13 from 35 at the Stow.
Ardmayle Machine started slowly, moved off & was bumped at the
first bend. He ran on for second.
Emporio Wizard was erratic and jumped deliberately in behind.
Like Hot Cakes led up in the 640m open and was outpaced on the
run to the 3rd bend by
Baran Mustang.
Baran Mustang was one paced from the 5th bend, but held on to
win by 3/4 of a length.
Like Hot Cakes kept on for second.
Heavy Weather challenged from the 3rd to the 5th bend and held
every chance in third.
Slick Striker made all the running to land the 3rd ARC TRIAL
STAKES (DIV 4). He held on by the narrowest of margins as
Kilkenny Lonjack cam home well.
Kilkenny Lonjack lacks early pace and gives himself plenty to
do. I suspect he'll be a beaten favourite on a few more occasions
yet. I had sorted these two out for a reverse forecast but failed to
get the reddies on as I was caught rabbiting to someone. DOH!
Ronnies Playboy set the early pace in the STOW PUPPY STANDARD
(DIV 2). He faded near the line and was caught late on by
Rockchase Samy.
Rockchase Samy had been running in A2s at Romford and this was
not the strongest of puppy opens.
Treacle Rose showed excellent early pace and made all to land
the STOW BITCHES STANDARD (DIV 2). She took a middle course on the
run up and landed a hattrick of wins.
Hackney Carriage moved off at the bends and held every chance in
second.
Noirs Ted was sent off 11/10 in the 3rd ARC TRIAL STAKES (DIV
3), despite cramping on his last two Stow runs. Division 3? I
deserted him on the betting front, so no guesses for what happened
next!
Noirs Ted whooshed out of the traps and pulled well clear. He
ran wide and cramped off the last bend. Such was his imperious
superiority over this motley crew, he held on to win by a length.
Given my fondness for this dog, I thought I'd check with Seamus on
his regime. I said " Seamus, are you looking after him, giving him
plenty of beetroot and tomatoes etc in his diet?" Seamus produced a
big smile and said " Don't worry about him, he's getting
everything he needs" Memo to God (on my knees) "Dear God, please
look after this wonderful dog and ensure he comes home safe & sound
after every race. Please, please can I have some unnaturally warm
weather on each Arc day
Noirs Ted is due to run? PS I do not ask you for anything,
hardly ever in fact" (Let's hope he's reading)
The veteran
Ace Mentor led up in an eventful marathon.
Baran Miami dwelt on the first circuit, but consented to put
some running in and led from the 5th bend. He was a one pace winner.
Jangos Snowdrop cam from another county to stay on for second.
The rogue
Romford Carthree led for a few bends, before he gave up!
Cobra Striking showed his early paced again and led round in the
3rd ARC TRIAL STAKES (DIV 2). Again he was not fluent at a bend or
two and he was one paced after being passed at the third bend. He
surely deserves a break.
Black Ice Boss paced up to the bend after a modest start and led
from the 3rd bend.
Lively Arthur kept on for second.
Droopys Patty broke modestly in the STOW PUPPY STANDARD (DIV 1),
but paced up into the bend and led at the first bend. He drove the
bend well and made all.
Vito Blue kept on for second.
Stone Mole Spark was slow away and kept on for 3rd.
Centaur Decree showed the best early pace and led round in the
3rd ARC TRIAL STAKES (DIV 1).
Milldean Buster drove the first two bends well and took over
from near the 3rd bend. He's now an impressive 12 from 20 Stow runs.
Arthurs Joy was outpaced early, but kept on for second.
Jazz Hurricane was sent off 11/10 in the STOW BITCHES STANDARD
(DIV 1). She made short work of this task and led from the third
bend. She's has an impressive record of 12 from 17 at the Stow and
has been a blinding bitch for her owners. She should win a few more
races yet, but she would be due to come in season sometime in March.
Now I'd very much like a pup bred by her!
Tanner Butler led her up, but had no chance when
Jazz Hurricane loomed up in her "wing mirrors."
Tanner Butler ran a decent enough race in second.
Marwills
Silver set the early pace in the STOW NOVICE STAYERS finale. Twilight
Fantasy took over at the 5th bend and pulled clear, sending
favourite backers home happy. Tilly
plugged on for second
