Lins Dragon started well and led up in the opening A8. She ran
out of gas and faded on the run in.
Nellies Choice started slowly, but showed pace down the back
straight and led on the run in. This was her first win on her 6th
attempt.
Daphs Girl made all and was a comfortable winner of the S3. It
was 10th time lucky, as this was her first win at the Stow.
Bobs Express plodded on for second.
Kissmedeadly led up in the A7.
Pinewood Gypsy ran on and led from the 3rd bend. She tied up
near the end and held on by half a length from
Kissmedeadly.
Pinewood Gypsy has been costly to follow and this was her first
win on her 8th attempt. She has previously been a beaten fav, 3
times on the spin.
Jumokee Beauty made all to land the P6.
Special Liberty didn't take the bends at all well and went down
by a length, holding every chance.
Bell Imperial set the early pace in the S1, but faded from the
5th bend. The old plodder
Swift Leon won another, leading near the line. Now I thought he
was a right slow 'un, but he continues to baffle me.
Hoylake Claire plugged on for second.
Droopys Jimmy broke best in the A5, but forfeited ground as
usual, running wide at the bends. He was headed at the 3rd bend and
was one paced on the run in. He's by the same dam as my bitch,
Droopys Kestrel. The dam Droopys Minx, was the dam of the Irish
Derby winner, Climate Control. They are by different sires.
Droopys Jimmy and Droopys Kestrel run amazingly similarly. Both
square off at the bends and sadly, both are similarly disappointing,
though
Droopys Jimmy has a better strike rate.
Versailles took it up from the 3rd bend.
Versailles is not one to rely on.
Lady Clarissa was a decent winner of the S3. She broke well and
pulled clear of the field.
Luciesilvas stayed on late (as usual) and reduced the margin to
1 1/2 lengths.
Despite there only being 5 runners in the A4, it looked a decent
race.
Directors Star started well and made all.
Hows Trix ran a very good race in second and I expect he will
win very soon.
Journey Time made all to land the A3. This was his 5th win from
21 Stow starts. He's by Farnans Moyne, dam of Journey North.
Special Trip plugged on for second.
Maneen Haka turned 2nd but faded out of it on the run in.
Lode Star set the early pace in the S1 but was gunned down by
the powerful finish of
Rhias Beauty.
Rhias Beauty had attracted support in a recent S2, but had
disappointed. perhaps the penny has dropped. This was an impressive
run.
Lode Star fade to the rear and
Clear Decision plugged on for second.
Treacle Rose made all to land the A2. She held on desperately as
the game veteran
Perceptive Pacey closed on the run in.
Clonbrin Ted sadly finished lame. It seemed to me that he
checked at the 2nd bend last week and it was at this same spot that
he felt something again.
Noirs Denis made all to land the A1, but did look a bit one
paced.
Bell Classic held every chance in second. This was not a strong
A1.
True Frankie made all to land the S2 finale.
Ebony Ocean stayed on late and just failed as the leaders
stamina just held out.
Droopys Madam ran wide at the bends and disappointed.
