Macbart
continued his upward curve of progression, when taking the A8 very
comfortably. He was boxed up in trap four, ran rails & was
crowded on the run up. He ran on strongly and pulled clear after
leading at the last bend. Noirs
Heidi was badly crowded at the second bend after showing pace
up, and still finished a clear second.
Lastinfirstout
led round in the S3, but tired from the last bend after being headed
at the 5th bend. Combined
Team led at the 5th bend and held on from Ebony
Ocean, who stayed on from off the pace.
Winkys
Don and All
Clued Up had a good battle in the hurdles H2. After All
Clued Up failed to lead early, Winkys
Don looked set to score. All
Clued Up took over at half way, but could never break clear. Winkys
Don took over again at the 3/4 and waited, before holding on for
a short head victory. Winkys
Don is a fast dog, with "character".
Podges
Dilemma made all and ran out a decent winner in the A7. He had
been ko'd in his first visit to the Stow, but showed no ill effects.
A friend of mine used to always back dogs that had fallen on their
previous race. His theory was that the trainer had to rev them up
next time and try to get a win to restore their confidence. He has
had some success with this idea, though it's not for me. Clonbrin
Sara ran middle & was bumped at the start, then kept on for
second.
Dark
Crystal started well and led round in the S2. Bold
Talent started poorly, but quickened to get on terms easily. He
took over at the 3rd and went on to win. Dark
Crystal kept on for second.
The A6 looked a
competitive event beforehand. The favourite, Robbies
Hero, missed the break and ran into the rails at the first bend.
Droopys
Jimmy got to the front, running wide at the first two bends. Perrys
Carat turned close behind and led near the 3rd bend. Droopys
Jimmy ran wide at the last bend and out-stayed Perrys
Carat on the run in.
Whoosh
Im Gone was an impressive winner last time, but miss-timed his
break tonight. He went well to the bend though. Georges
Girl led round, before Whoosh
Im Gone took over from the 3rd bend. He's one to keep on your
side.
Airtech
Spur led early in the S1 and poached what looked like a winning
advantage on the back straight. Despite easing at the first bend, Lode
Star came home well and led on the run in as Airtech
Spur got tired & faded.
Dark
Fantasy made all in the A4, just leading at the first bend. This
was his 7th win from 22 Stow starts and was commendable as he'd been
off for a few months. Hows
Trix kept on for second.
Snoozys
Palace looked well drawn in T6 outside Jeremy
and was sent off 7/4 jolly. He made the most of the draw, paced up
well and led 3 lengths at half way. Onbir
Dan came home well and Snoozys
Palace faded on the run in, allowing Onbir
Dan to grab the race on the line.
Addington
Ruby showed smart early pace and led round in the A2. She was
swamped for pace at the 3rd bend and unfortunately knocked over. Toosey
Tops didn't take the first two bends fluently, but cam home well
and ran out a decent winner. Special
Deal eased at the 3rd bend and kept on for second. Everything
went wrong for Pennys
Padma and there will be other days for him.
Fenland
Lark was dropped markedly in class and made no mistake in the
A1. Quickly into her stride, she made all. Reverse
Pace rode a bump at the second bend and kept on for second.
Off
Course made all in the S2 finale. Sofem
kept on for second.
