Wednesday's card was an open card with some graded
fillers.
Swift
Hound landed a gable in the opening A7. She was backed from 5/1
to 9/4. She led from the second bend. This was her first win on her
second Stow start. Issy
Bee kept on and finished second.
The H1 saw a
few different leaders. First up was Westgate
Flash, but his effort petered out at half way. Next up was Westminsterpearl,
who led to the 3rd bend. After a slow start, Ardmayle
Machine ran on and led from the third. This was his 5th win from
17 Stow starts.
Reenview
Lass led up in the S1 and was skipped clear when Eye
Onthe Jewel and Killeacle
Hobbs came together at the first bend. Droopys
Seamus was also bumped, but turned in pursuit. However, he
didn't see out the trip and faded from the 5th bend. Reenview
Lass's stride shortened on the run in, but she held on by 3/4 of
a length from the staying on Swift
Leon. This was Reenview
Lass's 3rd win on the spin.
One of the
outsiders, Squires
Son, paced up well and led round in the A4. However, he failed
to get home and faded from the third bend. Hows
Trix took over, but was gunned down late on by Journey
Time.
Josim
Darkie led up in the A3, but despite being down in graded here,
he didn't sustain the gallop. Journey
East took over between the last two bends, but lost out in a
photo to Stride
On Babe. Stride
On Babe was crowded at the second bend and did well to get
involved, let alone win.
Swift
Maggie set a good pace up front in the Boxing day stayers open.
However, again she was not fluent at the bends and she was caught
between the last two bends. Classy
Star had been running terribly of late, but cam with a storming
run to run away with the race. JC had certainly tuned up a few for
the xmas money today.
Kindred
Sparky was a very impressive winner of the Boxing day standard.
He shot out of the traps and made all. He ran wide at the last bend,
allowing Ronaldos
Merit to get a bit closer, but still had 2 1/2 lengths in hand
at the line. Astute
Gift was not fluent at the bends.
Hypatia
Blue (5/2 jt fav) was quickly into her stride, coming off the
rails in the A2. She made all the running and had 2 1/2L in hand of Stone
Mole Spark, the eventual second. Blue
Rizzler, the other joint fav ran poorly.
Droopys
Kan Kan led up in the Boxing day marathon, but never got away
from the field. She lost her stride and the lead at the 5th bend and
finished with an injury. Romford
Carthree hit the front at the 6th bend, and despite looking one
paced from the 7th bend, went on to win. Silbury
Squirrel was also one paced from the 7th bend and finished
second.
Genesis
Sister set the early pace in the S1 finale, but had no answer to
the finishing burst of Dubai
Adventure. Dubai
Adventure hit the front at the 5th bend and pulled clear. JC
must have had it right off today.
