Thursday's card was an
open card with some graded fillers.
Jumokee Prince started well and made all in the opening A8 for
his 2nd win from 12 at the Stow.
Topsy Turvy started slowly, showed some pace up to the first
bend. He kept on to finish a length second and should soon be
winning.
Legal Major has been in fine form and added another win to his
growing tally in the 430m open.. (20/49 Stow)
Snoozys Palace started well and towed him along for a couple of
bends. He was wide and readily outpaced.
Milldean Flash stumbled at the start and absolutely flew home.
He'll surely be winning very soon.
Snazzy Time was sharply dropped in class in the hurdles open and
made mincemeat of his rivals.
Stemart Bobby kept on for second.
Aero Blackjack made a decent debut over 6 bends in the puppy
stayers open. He ran wide at a couple of bends, but had too many
guns for
Rough Quest.
Rough Quest started very slowly and stayed on for second.
Lurgan Legend made all to land a moderate A6.
Elgin Mabel kept on for second. There was trouble involving the
rest, with only
Cruising Katie showing some promise among them.
Droopys Kan Kan showed decent early pace in the marathon, but
again did not quite see out the trip. She was closely pursued by
Snappy Girl, who took over from the 7th bend.
Snappy Girl has now won 20 marathons and has been a grand
servant to connections.
Joshs Jet came ion as a reserve and won a poor Div 2 maiden. He
showed was left clear then held on by a diminishing 1 1/4 lengths.
There was a pile up behind and
Largo Lassie stayed on best and finished second, after riding a
first bend bump.
Heavy Weather was led for a couple of bends in the next 6 bend
open by
Centaur Cappo.
Heavy Weather quickened up to lead passing the winning time on
the first circuit and made all. It was a bit of a laboured win and
Centaur Cappo plugged on to finish 3/4 of a length second.
The Div one maiden saw an impressive winner in
Courts Ad Peer. After a modest start,
Courts Ad Peer pace up well to the bend and made all. He won by
6 1/4 lengths in a decent 28.75.
Seanis Wish ran middle from his trap five draw and put paid to
his own chance and those of
True To Rachel on his inside.
Chazwick Recipe plugged on for second.
Lockdale Duke broke well and led round in the A1.
Fenland Lark ran wide and stayed on well to lead from the 4th
bend. He has a very decent winning record at the Stow, 11/24, yet
was sent off a 4/1 shot. I had pulled the shutters down after taking
an early lead on the punting front and let this one go by. :(
In the Div one open,
Cobra Striking has been well below par recently and was sent off
a 7/1 shot. After a modest start, he paced up well and led round.
His effort was short lived and he was outpaced from the 3rd bend.
Milldean Buster went down the back straight well and led from
the 3rd bend.
The modest finale, an S3, was won by Pyrotechnic,
who led from the 2nd bend, despite running wide at the bends. Ashville
Kylie was one paced from the last bend and finished 2 1/2
lengths second.
