The opener was a poor excuse for a Greyhound race.
Charlotte Copper led round.
Katies Patch came to take the race, but had another dwell up on
the run in and threw the race away. This presented the race to
Tiggy Oggy.
Inbetween Dreams set the early pace in the A8, but faded from
the 3rd bend.
Miss Georgie took over and went on to land her 2nd race from 5
ups.
Dogtor On Call lobbed round and finished second.
Fat Man Dan stepped up markedly on his recent form and ran away
with the A6, a kennel sweepstake first heat.
Courts Ad Andy ran very green again and finished a remote
second. He is not one to put your hard earned on for a while yet,
despite showing some promise.
Kid Joker grabbed the 3rd qualifying spot.
.Steady
Molly made all in the A7. She didn't come home that strong, but
may win her share with her early pace. I doubt she'll progress to
far though.
Rosie Aimee didn't negotiate the first two bends too well, but
ran on pretty strongly. I'm sure she'll win a few races in the
coming weeks.
In the next A6 (2nd kennel sweepstake heat),
Twilight Fantasy made all on her second run back from season.
She had competed at a higher level previously.
Clonbrin Sara plugged on for second.
Bold Talent came from another parish to finished 3rd. He
stumbled leaving the traps and perhaps lost as much as 10 lengths on
the field.
The slow boat S4 race was won in trap to line fashion by
Come On Harry. It's obscene that these races pay as much as an
A5. They are surely at least as bad as the A8 races.
Tight Grip followed him home, but ducked in behind on the run
in. Not a good trait.
After a slow start,
Mystical Snow paced up well and led from the first bend. This
was a decent win, considering he had been absent for 108 days. He's
by that brilliant bitch Hopeful Moment, who won tons of Walthamstow
opens. You can't even find her form on the "thedogs site" and she
only ran in 2004. Best to look at a real site, greyhound-data.
Greenfield Vieri was not fluent at the 3rd bend, but kept on for
second.
Leeview Lleyton disappointed last time after showing promise on
his debut. He showed what he's capable of with a decent trap to line
win here, in the A4.
Allglaze Roman stayed on late and finished second.
Droopys Attracta was sent off favourite in the S1 after a few
decent runs behind Droopys Totti. She led up, despite not breaking
as well as she can. However, she never got away from the field and
always looked likely to be caught.
Genesis Sister stayed on and led from between the last two
bends.
Rhias Beauty stayed on quite well and finished second.
In the next modest A3,
Offshore Mill paced up and led round. Although
Ardagh Mike is nowhere near as good as he was, (11 opens
including the Carling Futurity at Nottingham), he was still too good
for these. He took over between the last two bends and beat
Offshore Mill by 1 3/4 lengths.
Sophie Rose showed the best early pace and led up in the A2.
Synone Rubin showed decent pace down the back straight, took it
up on the run to the third bend and went on to score.
Marathon Girl stayed on well for second.
