Plenty of Walthamstow race goers were looking forward to the Sky
card at Wimbledon, as the Stow racing was frankly shit. Imagine our
horror, when after watching the first W'don race, they turned it
over to the football! A poxy Carling cup clash between West Ham and
Coventry. It's a dog track for *ucks sake! Despite the one of the
Racing Post's lads voicing our concerns and poor old Livvy getting
lots of abuse in the racing office, they stuck with the football.
Either Jack Chandler, or some VIP in the Paddock grill was to blame.
They finally turned it over for the final, but what a *ucking
disgrace! I'll be seriously thinking again on whether I'll next time
spend £26 for a cab, £2 for a programme and ca £20 over the bar,
next time there is a Sky card on. The game is dying on it's feet and
they are promoting Carling cup football at at "London's premiere"
dog track.
Dunsford
Treat ram middle from trap one and led up in the opening A9. Miss
Georgie was crowded on the run up and ran on and took over from
the 3rd bend to win on her debut. Guilt
Factor started very slowly, showed pace down the back straight
and went down by a head.
The A8 was a poor race,
with a number of different leaders. Missed
A Chance was first up, but he ran off at the second bend. Gleaming
Carly took over at the second bend, but faded from the third. Seemingly
Sam led at the 3rd bend briefly, before running wide at the 4th
bend and fading. Missed
A Chance kept on and took it up again on the run in. Nellies
Choice stayed on for second.
The hurdles H2 was
not a memorable race. Stemart
Bobby made all, had a dwell up at the 3rd bend and hung on by a
short head from Omeugo
Mison.
The S3 featured another photo finish. Reenview
Lass led from the second and won by the narrowest margin from Off
Course who stayed on from off the pace.
Pretty
Mentor started well in the A7, taking a middle course from trap
5. She did not see out the trip and Lindys
Belle took over from the 3rd bend. This was her first win from
just two W'stow starts. She was 0/10 A6 Romford before moving to the
Stow. Wise
Butler stayed on after a slow start and was 3L second.
Knockane
Jo made all in the second A7. This was her 5th win from 25
starts. Watch
It Thunder plugged on for second.
Droopys
Mumba made all in the A6, stepping up a fair bit on her modest
debut. Secret
Dreams kept on for second. He has not got a fluent action. Charity
plugged on late for 3rd.
Hoylake
Claire and Arry
Olt went up to the bend together in the A5. Hoylake
Claire eased at the bend and Arry
Olt swung round and made all from the first bend. The old rouge Arry
Olt was returning after rage counselling and didn't put a foot
wrong here. Dubai
Adventure showed some pace to the first bend after a slow start
and plugged on for second.
Sparkys
Stag made the early running in the S1, but was swamped for pace
at the 5th bend. Droopys
Kan Kan ran on, led at the 5th and was a convincing winner. Swift
Maggie again showed some high tail action and was a remote
second.
Bodell
Mistress led round in the A4. Patch
challenged to half way, before fading from the 3/4. Tilly
ran on, eased at the 3rd bend and led near the line.
Fitzie
made all in the A3. This was his 8th win from 33 W'stw starts. Poacher
Man lobbed round and finished 3L second.
The
Wizard led round in the S2 finale. He ran out of gas and faded
from the 5th bend. Leaha
Chuita took over at the 5th bend, but was run out of it near the
line by Born
For Glory. Rambling
Ruth was particularly poor early on and never really looked
likely to get involved in the places.
