Thursday's card was an open card, with a few
graded fillers.
In the opening P7, Georges
Girl ran wide and was bumped at the start, but still got to the
front early and made all. Cutting
Edge came to challenge at the 3rd bend, but timed his challenge
wrong, bottled it and lost his chance.
Firm
Handed made all in the hurdles open. Alis
Amigo turned 2nd and finished in that place, 4L behind the
winner. Snazzy
Time didn't come away well and suffered crowding at a few
points.
True
Frankie led for a few bends, before Romford
Carthree swept by at the 4h bend and won well. Denial
stayed on best of the rest and went down by just over 6L in second.
The five runner field would very much suit the winner. He turned
quite handy here.
Bills
On Board showed the best early pace in the maiden, but Systems
Sound quickened up and took over from the second bend. His
stride shortened a bit at the end. Rough
Rose fell out of the traps, but stayed on and picked her way
through the field to finish ahead of the bunch in second.
Milldean
Flash trapped level with Swhimasdylan
and Perceptive
Pacey in the 430m open, but showed much the best early pace to
lead at the first. He ran out an impressive winner in his first
attempt over the trip. Perceptive
Pacey kept on ok for second. Wheres
Yer Man missed the break and was crowded at the first.
Big
Brett Coal, Rackethall
Holly and Discreet
Cat went to the bend in a line in the Axima Stayers open. Rackethall
Holly showed the most determination going into the bend and she
led up as Big
Brett Coal backed out. Discreet
Cat gave chase, but gave valuable ground away running wide at
the bends and weakened from the 5th bend. BBC paced up and threaded
his way though at the 5th bend for his 15th win at the track from 27
starts. Rackethall
Holly finished 3 1/2 lengths behind in second and the fading Discreet
Cat held on for third.
Buckland
Wally led up in the veterans open and Clonbrin
Show got a nice clear run on the rails in behind. Clonbrin
Show led on the run in as Buckland
Wally ran wide off the last bend. Caulry
Fast Trap started slowly and lost a good 3 lengths when crowded
at the second bend. He came home very well and went down by a head.
He'll be very hard to beat in the veterans events in the coming
months.
Dark
Fantasy showed great early pace in the puppy standard open.
However, his stride shortened on the run in and he was caught near
the line. Ask
The Question started very slowly, but came home well and led on
the run in. Droopys
June was impeded at the second bend and kept on for second,
holding every chance.
Winch
Whippet led up in the A4, but moved off at half way. Millie
Moo broke modestly, paced up to the bend and led from half way. Winch
Whippet kept on for second.
Noirs
Ted put in a breathtaking display in the First City Standard.
Last week, he got it all wrong at the start and ran a fantastic race
to get up. This week, he broke the traps down and ran his rivals ragged.
He's 11 from 35 at the Stow and it's not hard to see him adding
plenty more to that tally. Fire
Lane Vieri kept on gallantly for second.
Siesta
Romeo paced up well and led round in the A2. Old
Jamaikey flew down the back and waited from the third. A
scramble for the line ensued and Bell
Classic swooped late and fast to grab it on the line. He was 5th
at half way.
Ellron
paced up well after missing the break in the novice stayers finale.
He led from the 1st bend and made all. Westmead
Oak started very slowly, stayed on and went down by 3/4 of a
length.
