Round one to the punters in the opening P9, as the favvy
Ringtale Lad broke ok and made all.
Rooster Flame was a bit unlucky from trap one, finishing 2L
second.
Multeen Magic ran to the rails from trap 2, impeding
Multeen Magic.
Multeen Magic was also forced to check at the 3rd bend. He may
well have won with a clear run.
Scorpio Branch ran out a decent winner in the P8. He stepped
forward significantly on his poor previous effort. In a field of
slow starters, he got to the front at the second bend and pulled
clear of his rivals.
Jumokee Prince started slowly, paced up to the first bend, but
faded from second place on the run in.
Special Skylar broke averagely and was outpaced to the first
bend and plugged on to grab second from the fading
Jumokee Prince. Snooker's Ronnie O'Sullivan was in attendance to
see his
Go Ronnie Rocket run poorly. He was snookered at the 2nd bend
(crowded) after a modest start and faded on the run in to finish
last.
Rough Quest gave them a start and a beating in the A7. He walked
out of the traps and stayed on and led on the run in.
Barnestown Lad led up, was headed on the back straight by
Chadwell Ash, led again at the 3rd, before being overtaken as
Rough Quest swooped late.
Rough Quest is a litter mate of Rough Ronaldinho, the Monmore
puppy Derby winner.
Barnestown Lad is by an open race dam.
After a
modest start,
Rusheen Roy showed some pace to the first bend in the A6 and led
round.
Spring Paris came and grabbed him near the line, despite running
wide at the last bend.
Brigadoon eased at the first bend and showed pace and threatened
to challenge at the third bend. All the regulars knew what to expect
at this point, as there was a loud "EASE" shout from the stands.
Brigadoon eased as expected and that was the end of his chances.
Ants Gunner led up in he A5, but could not contain
Greenfield Post, who led from between the last two bends.
Greenfield Post did well to win, as he was crowded on the run up
and at the second bend.
Droopys Kan Kan was forced to check at the 3rd bend, but never
looked likely to get on terms.
Headleys Cross started best and led round in the S2. Despite
swerving on the run to the 3rd bend,
Killeacle Hobbs gradually asserted and took over at the 5th
bend. It wasn't much of a race though.
Blackmagic Rose was a decent trap to line winner in the A4.
Noirs Denis started very slowly and ran on to finish a never
nearer 2 lengths second.
Honcho Dan checked at the second bend and showed some pace on
the back straight and was a further 3 1/4 lengths 3rd.
In the second A4, despite stumbling on the run up,
Squires Son still led round.
Journey East was very slow away and ran wide on he bends, but
came home well and led on the run in, beating
Squires Son by 3/4 of a length.
The third A4
was a dreadful race. It had to be for
Pinta Magners to win.
Pinta Magners got a clear run round the first two bends after a
modest start and led from half way.
Lady Clarissa bottled it at the 3rd bend and still managed to
beat the others.
Millie Moo was outpaced & badly crowded at the second bend.
The
A3 saw average starts from Wise
Digger, Lemon
Figo and Tiger
Scot. The all showed some pace to the first bend. Lemon
Figo showed the best early and led round. Wise
Digger came to challenge at the 3rd bend and had a dwell up
and impeded Lemon
Figo. Tiger
Scot was not at all fluent rounding the first two bends, but he straightened
himself up, stayed on and led on the run in, as Lemon
Figo ran off at the last bend.. He took bends 3-4 much better. Tiger
Scot's grand dam threw Hasty Boy and Form of Magic.
The
old boy Buckland
Wally showed the youngsters how to do it in the A2, Quickly into
his stride, he came off the rails and made all. Dysert
Cara turned second and didn't take the 1st two turns fluently.
She was at least 5 lengths behind at half way and a combination of
her staying on and Buckland
Wally tiring, reduced the margin to half a length. Special
Trip dived straight to the rails at the start from trap tow,
impeding Synone
Rubin.
Ortuna
paced up well together with Perceptive
Pacey in the A1. Perceptive
Pacey checked at the first bend and Ortuna
swung round and led from the first, continuing her improvement. This
was her 5th win from 14 starts and she has worked her way through
the grades, starting at A6. Happy
Memories started modestly, paced up to the bend, but seemed to
lose a bit of momentum at the second bend. He came home well and
went down by half a length.
Droopys
Madam was led up momentarily by Toosey
Tina, but changed gear and kicked away from her field from the
first. She ran wide at a few bends, but ran out a decent winner. Fionntra
Lisa started slowly and picked up the pace, with a clear run off
the second bend. He took Toosey
Tina at the 3rd bend and impeded Toosey
Tina between the last two bends as she stayed on and threatened
to put a challenge in on the leader. I don't this Toosey
Tina would have got up, but it may have been close.
