Strong
Flow started well in the H1 and led round. He held a healthy
lead and looked all set to win. However, Gantara
showed screws pace and had time to attack Strong
Flow and head him near the line. Mr Page (The racing manager)
was seething! (must have been) Almost immediately after the line
Chris announced take Strong
Flow to the presentation area! The red card followed swiftly
after for Gantara.
Strong
Flow and connections got the trophy and the prize money. Wee
done Mr Page! I can't recall this happening for a very long time at
Walthamstow. (This happened in a Golden Jacket final at Crayford
some years ago, where the Champagne syndicate had a race taken off
them.)
In a field of slow starters, Scorpio
Branch and Rough
Domino swung round off the second bend in the P8. Rough
Domino stayed on much the better, despite running very green. Scorpio
Branch ran quite well in defeat.
Fionntra
Buddy paced up well and led early in the A7. He led until running
wide at the last bend and handed the advantage to the staying on Seven
Gold Bars. Seven
Gold Bars ran wide himself and was a rare debut winner for John
Sherry.
Eye
Onthe Magic broke best in the A6, ran wide and led until the run
in. Genesis
Outlaw stayed best and grabbed the lead on the run in. The favvy
Mystical
Music, bottled it and was badly crowded at the firs bend.
Beat
Them King ran out a decent trap to line winner in the P6. He's
one to follow. Droopys
Hamlet was fancied by connections and showed some promise on his
debut. I thought he had a dodgy action myself and will be avoiding
this one. I'm sure he'll win some races though.
True
Frankie started well and led early in the S1. However, he failed
to see out the trip this week. He has won over 8 bends, but has
looked like a non stayer on a number of occasions. Ingenious
ran on after an average break and led from the 5th bend.
The
outside Combined
Team led up early in the A5. Once Tenbucks
Ebony turned behind, there was only going to be one winner. He
did make rather heavy weather of it. This was another winning nap
for the Racing Post's Tony Bullen. Tony is on a very good run of
naps at the moment.
Paid
In Cash paced up and towed the field along in the P5. He failed
to get home and faded from he 3rd bend. Noirs
Speedy took over for a bit, but faded on the run in. Journey
Back showed good pace down the back straight, was crowded at the
3rd bend and picked himself up to lead on the run in.
Rather
Rapid made all in the P4. All
Clued Up repeated his recent runs to a T. Missed break, paced
up, no more to give on the run in. Versailles
kept on for second.
Treacle
Star cracked out and made all in the A3. Wise
Digger was slow away and stayed on for second. Directors
Choice ran no sort of race. He was crowded at the 1st and 3rd
bends, showed a little pace on the back straight, but ran a very
long way below last weeks form.
Adamant
Laser smashed out and made all in the A2. Hypatia
Blue kept on for second. Bubbly
Magic was beaten a very long way. I struck an eight tenners to
one with a mate that he returns within 7 days. A late report from
the kennel suggests I have a decent chance of drawing on this wager
:)
Daisyfield
Bella made all in the A1, much to the delight of a few regulars
in the hideaway bar (paddock bar). Clonbrin
Show kept on for second.
Pennys
Lindsay paced up well in the S3 finale. He ran wide though and
was out-stayed by Headleys
Cross, who led from the 5th bend. To my recollection Luciesilvas
was sent off short (Evs or a shade of odds on) and their still
looking for it.
