There
was a minor gamble on Gilgarry
Rebel in the opener and he made all to land the opening
A9. Mr Baggs himself was distracted in the bar and he missed the
16-1 tote return. Stealth
Survivor kept on for second.
Gantara
led up in the hurdles H1 and didn't have time for a dwell up
tonight. He was completely outpaced by Lockdale
Lord at the 3rd bend, who went on to score. Hes
A Champ had a fight at the first in behind.
Hillcross
Tempo made all in the P8. Miss
Rapid started very slowly, was green again at the first two
bends. She paced up well, but was clumsy and challenged at the wrong
point.
Shortfall
led round in the S3, but was outpaced by Eye
Onthe Spark running into the 3rd bend. Eye
Onthe Spark cramped up on the run in and held on desperately.
The bunched up in behind and Shortfall
and closed the gap, only as as Eye
Onthe Spark faded.
Lizzies
Angel broke ok, was bumped at the first and hit the front. Many
Memories swung round and led off the second and looked set to
score. However, he ran out of gas on the run in and Lizzies
Angel re-gained the lead on the run in.
Drumbeg
Robroy paced up well and led up in the P6. He could not sustain
the gallop and one Racing Post correspondent and supporter said
"never again". After all that beer, will he remember next
week? It's anyone's guess. Versailles
is a bit of a plodder. The cards fell nicely for him and he led on
the run in.
The A5 was not a memorable event. only
5 went to post and Gortown
Joe made all, holding on by a head from Funcheon
Turbo. The times of 29.74 told the story.
Honcho
Dan put in a blinding effort to land the second A5. Tenbucks
Ebony ran to the middle and hammered into him at the start. Carden
Noir skipped clear and held what seemed like an unassailable
lead. However, the stride shortened and Honcho
Dan came home really well, showing a raking stride on the run
in.
True
Frankie broke well and led round in the S1. Despite checking at
many bends, Lode
Star got close nearing the 5th bend. However, he checked out at
the 5th bend. There was only one dog travelling nearing the 5th bend
and Romford
Carthree swooped into the lead for a comfortable victory.
In
the A4, five went up in a line, with the exception being Cranky
Trio, who had suffered bad crowding on the run up.. Lady
Clarissa moved off the fence and caused trouble for all bar Cranky
Trio, who avoided the pile up. Lady
Clarissa won the race in a pedestrian 29.84.
What
I
Dont Clare lacks in size, she makes up for in spades with her
courage. Buckland
Wally led her to half way until I
Dont Clare took over. She won the A3 in game style. The veteran Buckland
Wally plugged on for second. Implicitly
checked badly at the second bend and was tailed off.
Julies
Protege paced up well in the A2 and led until the second bend. Bell
Classic drove the bend well and led briefly on the back straight.
Julies
Protege gamely pulled out more, but checked as she briefly led
again going into the 3rd. Poacher
Man stayed on and took over and just won the battle for
supremacy as Julies
Protege gamely forced her way back into it. She went down by
just a neck.
In the A1, Black
As Coal broke averagely, but showed decent early foot to lead
round. His stamina gave way and he faded on the run in. Pennys
Viva turned handy behind the leader and led at the 4th bend,
despite easing slightly at the 3rd bend, until being taken near the
line. Vigorous
Whitney started very slowly, but finished well and led on the
run in.
Roancarrig
View broke very smartly in the S2 finale and led early. However,
when Aranock
Sand turned a handy second, there was only going to be one
result. Aranock
Sand led at the 5th bend and went on to score. Centaur
Fuji plugged on past the fading Roancarrig
View to grab second.
