In
the opening A9, Flying
Tonite started best and looked set to make all. Aimwell
came out averagely, but was outpaced to the first bend. She kept on
and grabbed the lead on the line. The favourite Cooly
Captain broke modestly, was crowded at the first bend and ran
moderately.
In the A8, Sykos
Dream came away well and led until fading on the run in. Bobbi
Star started slowly, but showed some pace to the first bend. She
ran on and led on the run in. Bowlers
Bullet was crowded at the start, ran on and went wide at the
last turn and went down by a length.
Versailles
was sent off an 11/10 shot in the P7. After a modest start, he
showed a little pace to the first and swung round in front. Girl
Next Door started poorly, ran middle/wide on the run up and
stayed on well and only failed by a head to catch the well supported
jolly, Versailles.
Secretariat
failed to build on his promising debut. There will be other days for
him.
In the A7, Ringview
Rascal started smartly and led until fading on the run in. Flying
Fancy started slowly and was crowded at the first. She stayed on
and led on the run in.
Toosey
Tina had won a couple of S2 races, back in April and had been
running fairly consistently, without getting her head in front
recently. She cracked out and made all tonight for her 13th win from
90 starts. Despite easing at the first bend, Tequila
Maxie kept on best of the rest for second.
The
P6 was a messy event as Hillcross
Silk checked at the 2nd bend and also Fitzie
was not fluent at the bends either. Special
Vision was crowded at the second bend. Journey
East was modestly away, got a clear run and led on the run to
the third bend and went on to score.
Blue
Screamer broke well and made all in the A6 for a decent win.
This was his 2nd win at the Stow from 12 attempts after previously
going from A11 to A5 at Hove.Carden
Noir plodded on for 2nd.
Ortuna
ran out a decent winner in the A5. He broke well and pulled clear
and was most impressive. He looks to be one to keep on the right
side of. Bweeng
Star finished a remote second.
Ronaldos
Merit made an eye-catching debut in a weakly contested A4. He
didn't trap well, but was very quickly into stride and this was an
excellent debut performance. Small
Bites kept on for second and got closer as Ronaldos
Merit tired slightly on the run in.
Double
Top (sent off 4/6F) missed the break in the S1, but quickly
got on terms and took it up from the early pace setter, Ingenious
at the 4th bend. However, we saw the bad side of him again tonight,
as he dwelt from the 5th bend and slung the race away. Ingenious
accepted the invitation and took it up again on the run in.
Pennys
Vixen was a non runner in the A3, and Lockdale
Duke was sent off 11/10F, with a vacant trap on his inside. Lockdale
Duke made the most of the space and made all. Clonbony
Jubub stayed on for second.
Denwood
Star led round in the A2, but was swamped at the 3rd bend and
faded. Sangria
and Rough
Charley both ran on well and Sangria
ran out the winner by half a length.
Tanner
Butler came back to form in the A2. He flew out of the traps and
ran out an impressive winner. He recorded a fast sectional, a 4.89
and also a fine winning time of 28.79
Tinky
Rolls led round in the S2 and led until the 4th bend, but faded
from the 5th. Aranock
Sand took over at the 4th , until being outstayed by Melon
Twister, who led on the run in. Charity
fell out of the traps, checked at the 3rd bend and ran a shocker. Lode
Of Yank eased at the 1st bend and plugged on for third.
