In
the opening A8, True
Thomas broke smartly and set a decent pace up front. He did not
see out the trip however and Tee
Amber came through to lead on the run in. This was Tee
Amber's 11th win from 70 starts and she has won an A5 in the
past.
Schwarzer
made all in the A7. Combined
Team showed some middle pace and kept on for second.
Secretariat
showed plenty of promise when leading till fading on the run in in
the P7. (He's named after the American triple crown winning horse,
who won the Belmont by 31 lengths) Jeremy
started slowly and as he loomed up at the last, many were thinking
will he or won't he, but the rogue consented to put it down and led
on the run in. The favourite Genesis
Outlaw, started slowly and was outpaced and crowded between the
first two bends and finished well beaten.
An appalling
S3 followed and Cutie
Pie was sent off 6/4 Favourite. However he checked between the
first two bends and ran poorly. Shan
Rica made most of the run in, but was outstayed by Moynevilla
Robin, who grabbed the lead close home.
Shrewd
Move led up in the A6, but ran wide from the second bend
onwards. This resulted in him giving away too much ground and Noirs
Teresa was presented the race. Noirs
Teresa came away averagely and got a lovely clear run on the
rails. He took much the shorter route and led at the third.
Eye
Onthe Magic showed the best early to lead in the A6, but had no
answer to Directors
Time, who came home well and led at the 3rd. He ran out an
impressive winner.
In the P6, the lead changed
hands any number of times. Drumbeg
Robroy was first up and led till half way. Special
Vision took over and led until the 3/4, Journey
Back took over at this point and despite swinging off wide at
the last, went on to score. Special
Vision kept on for second. Ask
The Question came with every chance at the last bend, but could
not get on terms.
In the P5, Tiger
Scot got to the front at the first bend. He cam off the rails at
the second bend and led until between the last. Twilight
Fantasy came home strongly and came right away for a convincing
win.
There was a surprise in the S1, where Coolanga
Flyer and Shelbourne
Thesa were sent off 7/4 joint favourites. Be
Wise Lady came away very well and made all. The joint favs were disappointing
in behind and neither showed too much interest.
In
the A4, Annandale
Chief was expected to lead and be caught by something. Annandale
Chief broke very well and held on from Milldean
Tyco, who plugged on for a closing second, as the leader
faded on the run in. Largo
Lassie eased at the 3rd bend and faded.
Fionntra
Dara was another trap to line victor in the A3. Lockdale
Duke challenged to the 3rd, but challenged at the wrong point,
was forced to check and faded on the run in to finish 4th. Dark
Fantasy stayed on for second.
Adamant
Laser broke very well in the A2, ran wide and led until close
home. Treacle
Rose trapped ok, but did not run the first two bends too well.
He surprised me by coming from behind to lead near the line. It was
another front runner he caught though.
Bell
Classic started well in the A1, but was outpaced going into the
bend and was crowded out of it. Greenfield
Hero was sandwiched in between Bell
Classic and Reverse
Pace going into the first, but showed the better bravery to lead
off the second. He faded on the run in and was caught late by the
staying on Not
So Jolly, who finished well.
In the S2 finale, Pennys
Crown led up as the favourite Ingenious
had his back legs taken away. Ingenious
lost a few lengths here. Pennys
Crown ran wide at the second bend and allowed Ingenious
to close. Pennys
Crown's stamina was running out and as Ingenious
passed him at the 5th, she ran wide at he last bend. Ingenious
was getting tired himself and held on by half a length.
