Saturday's card was a modest graded affair. It
chucked down most of the night, yet a fair crowd turned up. There
was probably a bit of a bias, with the wide runners favoured.
In the opening P9, Alders
Harry hit the front early on his debut, but faded on the run in
after being headed at the 3/4. Ringtale
Lad was sow away and ran on to lead at the 3/4 for a
comfortable success. Black
Lightning broke modestly, but drove the bend well and plugged on
for second.
Lews
Trickster was sent off favourite in the A8, but was slow away
and made some modest late ground for 4th. Tadgells
Ollie broke well and made all. Sportsbar
Mandi held every chance and went down by a head as Tadgells
Ollie held on.
In the S4 thriller, Witches
Petal made most of the running and ran out a comfortable winner.
Courage
Best headed her on the back straight on the second circuit, but
failed to get the trip. The veteran Beltra
Delta was one paced and moderate, but still grabbed second.
In
the A7, Nikray
Lightning broke well and made the early running. Schwarzer
headed him on the back straight, but Nikray
Lightning would not be denied and pulled out more. Genesis
Sister returned early from season and will be winning in a
couple of weeks in this lowly grade when straighter.
Marathon
Girl was towed round for a few bends in the P6 by the early pace
setter, Shrewd
Move. Marathon
Girl outstayed them, leading from the third bend.
Only
five went to post in the P5, as Too Many Miles (trap 5) was a non
runner. This left Black
As Coal plotted in trap six and he made no mistake. After an
average break, Black
As Coal showed some decent early pace and pulled away for an
easy win. Tiger
Scot was outpaced early, showed some pace on the back straight,
but didn't negotiate the bends too well and went down by 3 3/4
lengths.
Pennys
Lindsay made most of the running in the S3. London
Pride led for a few bends, before failing to see out the trip
and fading to the rear. Toosey
Tina stayed on for second.
Arry
Olt showed smart early in the A5. Unfortunately, not for the
first time, he had a dwell up from the 3/4 and slung the race away.
In a scramble for the line, Directors
Sec won a messy race. Sadly, she did a wrist in the process.
Following
his win of last week in an A5, Annandale
Chief ran out a decent winner in the A4. He broke well and made
all. He'll find it much harder next time. Milldean
Thunder challenged at the 3/4, but faded near the line and Small
Bites kept on to grab second.
True
Frankie started well and set the pace in the S1. Droopys
Sibin ran out a decent winner and led at the 5th bend. Eye
Onthe Jewel plugged on for second. Droopys
Majella ran a shocker and eased and faded from the 5th bend.
After
a series of near misses, Sligo
Next finally got another win on the board. He was droppped in
class here and made no mistake, running out a four and a quarter
length winner from Boy
Becca. Siesta
Romeo run moderately in third.
Not
So Jolly absolutely took off to land the A2. Despite a slow
break, he ran on as if his life depended upon it. Tipsy
Tarquin led up, came off the rails and led to near the 3rd bend.
He had no answer as Not
So Jolly kicked the turbo in. There was a pile up well off the
pace after Not
So Jolly had flown.
Kilgraney
Agassi has some really good Irish form, but has been in and out
at the Stow. He was very much IN tonight, and he ran out a fair
winner, showing some decent early pace. Armies
Plan turned handy and put in one of his better performances in
second. He's capable, but inconsistent and probably showed the
benefit of a Harlow trip here.
The lucky last went
to the jolly, Be
Wise Lady. She made all the running from the gallant Pennys
Crown, who held every chance when running wide at the last bend.
