Banjo
Ocean was a well supported jolly in the opening A9 and the
result was not in doubt from an early stage as he made all. Special
Skylar was crowded at the 2nd bend and kept on, showing some
promise in second place.
In
the second A8, Green
Jeanie broke fast but could not sustain the gallop and was
headed between the last two bends and faded on the run in. Jeremy
was slowly into his stride and got a clear run round the first two
turns. He ran on and looked set for a comfortable success. He had
time to have a dwell up, before straightening and taking the race
from Green
Jeanie, who had no more to give. Jeremy
is not the first Fire Height Dan pup to screw up.
Hillcross
Silk broke best and led in the A7. He was headed by Redec
Liz at the second, but was in command again near the 3rd. There
were plenty of easers and checkers in behind. Talavara
Castle checked at the second and was tailed off. Scorpio
Skippy showed some pace on the back straight, but eased at the
3rd. Quick
Appeal eased at the 3rd and faded.
Matts
Idea broke best in the second A7, but moved off at the first and
ran poorly. Youre
Some Tulip broke averagely, took a middle course and led from
the 2nd to the third bend. Beardys
Doogs showed some middle pace and held every chance after a slow
start. Clonbrin
Sara had a dwell up at the 3rd bend, but still led on the run in
and went on to win. Ziggy
Sawdust was slow away, crowded at the first, showed some middle
pace, but checked at the 3rd. He finished a length second.
Bweeng
Star made all to land the A6. He won very comfortably from Journey
East,. who plodded on for second. The rest ran poorly.
Lode
Star came away well in the S1, but Double
Top showed the better early to lead from the second bend. Double
Top was one paced from the 5th bend, but still won from Eye
Onthe Jewel, who kept on for second. Lode
Star eased and faded from the 5th bend.
Payback
was an impressive winner of the second A6. He blasted out of the
traps and it was all over very early. Old
Guinness moved off and was bumped at the first and kept on for
second. The favourite, Ballymac
Daisy, was slow away and unfortunately knocked over at the first
bend. Westgate
Flash was badly crowded at the first after a modest break and
kept on for third.
Call
Again led at the first after an average break and made all in
the A5. He had time to run very wide at the final bend and still
win. Chivalrous
plugged on for second.
July
Captain did very well to reach the Graphite puppy final recently
and was sent off a warm order in the A4. Jim
The Butcher broke fastest and headed July
Captain on the run to the first bend. July
Captain took the bend better and Jim
The Butcher faltered, moving off at the second. July
Captain ran out a decent winner and Jim
The Butcher pulled out a bit more on the run to hold on to
second place, as Largo
Lassie showed some pace to the third bend and kept on
quite well for third.
Addington
Ruby cracked out and made all in the A2. Eye
Onthe Gift stayed on for second. Siesta
Moonlight walked out of the traps, eased at the bends quite
badly, but showed all sorts of pace on the straights. Adamant
Laser ran very disappointingly.
Milldean
Flash was an impressive winner of the A1. After trapping
modestly, he flew to the first bend and made all. War
Of Attrition was crowded at the first, but stayed on well for
second.
Tinky
Rolls was sent off a 12-1shot in the S2 finale, but made a
mockery of those odds. She broke fast and held a long lead. She was
running out of gas from the last bend and held on by a fast
diminishing head as the pack closed. Marked
Away plugged on best of the rest and just failed
