Noirs
Teresa broke slowly in the opening P7, but showed some early
pace and led at half way. She won as a 6/4 favourite. I wonder if
there may be a few more?
Four
Minutes was slung in in the H1. Despite being led up by Questhouse
Jimmy early doors, he comfortably took his measure on the run to
the third bend and went on to score. Questhouse
Jimmy is not striding out properly, particularly in the latter
stages of his races. Dan
Of War was sent off a 6/4 second favvy and jumped appallingly.
Poacher
Man destroyed the field- in the A6. He's had lots of
troubles, but is fast when he's sound. Annes
Sian kept on to finish 5L 2nd.
Droopys
Hepburn has been much maligned by me. She ran up to her best and
ran out a comfortable winner in this S3. Double
Pickins plugged on for second. Pennys
Lindsay ran off wide at lots of bends and slung the race
away, Moynevilla
Robin checked at the 4th and ran a shocker.
The
P6 race runners had shown a lack of early pace. Many
Memories got to the front. Billsdad
Bill got a clear run and showed the better pace to lead off the
last. Tiger
Scot showed a little promise on his debut, buty will need a few
races under his belt before he could be considered a punting
proposition. He's from the Solid Magic, Hasty Boy etc line and may
do better when stepped up in trip.
Lockdale
Duke disappointed last time, but was dropped in class here.
After a modest start, he got a clear run and afterwards, made no
mistake. Twilight
Fantasy stayed on for second.
The A5 had an
open look about it. The outsider Roll
Over Moll broke smartly and towed them along for a bit. Bit
View Joy ran on and led at the 3rd, but faded near the line and
held on as Roll
Over Moll came back for more.
In the P4 race, Dark
Fantasy was another jolly to make all. He came off the rails,
led early and made all from the staying on Eye
Onthe Power. Clonbrin
Mai checked at the 2nd and stayed on for third.
Shelbourne
Thesa was yet another winning jolly in the S1. After a slow
start she showed decent early pace, ran on and hit the front at the
5th. She ran right away from the field. Be
Wise Lady led for a fair while, but she was never going to hold
on, was she?
One of my old favourites, Old
Jamaikey returned from a 76 day layoff in the A4. He broke
modestly, but showed the best early pace, led at the first and never
saw another rival. Im
Snoopy, who is a very infrequent winner these days followed him
home.
We had not had a favourite win for all of 2
races, so it was only fair that King
Forever put another nail in the bookies coffins in the A3. King
Forever was a changed runner from the early card. Mr Bullen had
him second in on his selections, but there was a slip up at the Post
and he was left in the paper at 8-1. Mr Bazell was first up, had not
done his homework and made a major cock up. He opened up at 5-1!
Ronnie got filled in (again) and King
Forever was forced down to 2-1. He broke averagely, unleashed
some early pace and settled the event very quickly. Special
Roxi stayed on for second after Eye
Onthe Glory fade from the third.
The Cahill kennel
were on fire and Kilgraney
Agassi made in six for the kennel in the A2. After a modest
start, he drove the bend and led at half way. Addington
Ruby kept on gallantly in second and deserves to poke her head
in front soon.
Oh my god, another favourite! Who
can it be trained by? No, surely not? Another winner from the Cahill
conveyor belt. Milldean
Flash crashed out and made all in the A1 to make it seven
winners on the night. Perhaps they run better when Seamus and Teresa
are away? (Seamus and Teresa were down at Hove tonight.)
The
S2 finale saw the 9th outright winning favourite in Canary
Fantasy. Tinky
Rolls made the early running, before collapsing from the 5th. Canary
Fantasy ran wide at the 2nd, ran on and led at the 5th for a
comfortable victory. I suspect this is a night that the layers will
quickly want to forget. Nobody likes to see that!
