Tuesday featured (yet) another rotten graded card. :(
Several Derby "contenders" took the track early on, they were
burning up the track. Or was the track 50+ spots fast?
Raithby
Patricia made most of the running to land the opening A9. Demis
Dog ran wide at the first, headed Raithby
Patricia briefly in between the last two bends, before running
off the track at the last turn and handing the race to Raithby
Patricia.
In the second A9, Courage
Best returned from a layoff and hit the front off the 2nd bend,
only to fade on the run in. His turn will come soon. Bers
Ray was modestly away and came off the rails on the run to the
1st bend and took up the lead at the 3rd bend to go on to score. Warrior
Sumo was crowded at the 2nd bend and kept on ok to finish a head
second.
Benro
Rocks made a winning debut in the first A8. She got a lovely run
as Rubette
ran to the middle at the start and was crowded. Rubette
kept on ok afterwards, but never looked likely to get on terms.
Baby
Levi was sent off a well supported 5/4 shot and was a
comfortable scorer. He ran middle at the start, led up early and won
the race easily,. in a decent 29.11. True
Thomas did nothing wrong at all and kept on for an
uncontested second. He should win in this grade soon.
Tinky
Rolls led her field a merry dance in the S3 and held a big lead
at half way. However, her stamina did not hold out and she was
passed by the Penny's sisters! Pennys
Lindsay won the battle with Pennys
Vicki as they both stayed on past the fading Tinky
Rolls.
After a disappointing effort or several,
Beardys
Lex Anne ran out an impressive winner of the A7 in a fast 28.95.
She did not see another rival. Noirs
Teresa kept on for second.
In the second A7, Shortfall
ran rails and crowded the favvy Directors
Time early doors. Bonnie
Time showed some early foot and led until the 4th bend. Shortfall
showed plenty of determination and led on the run in. Anns
Bliss ran on for second, but did not look too keen to go past.
There
was a pile up in the third A7. :( Aero
Vesuvio ran into the rails at the first bend, bounced off and
put paid to the chances of Journey
Star and Tequila
Maxie. Meanwhile, Solaire
produced a decent break and made all. Sparkys
Stag was not fluent at the second bend, but held off the other
runner Meander
by a neck for second.
Charity
was strongly supported in the A6 and gave her rivals a start and a
comfortable beating. Nikray
Gifted led up down the back straight before Charity
turned on the turbo.
In the second A6, Treacle
Star was another well supported winning Jolly. She cracked out
and made all. Terry
My Pal showed plenty of pace and as he challenged at the 3rd
bend, he was forced to check and lost all chance. I thought that
this was a step forward by Terry
My Pal and I will be likely to be supporting him next
time.
In the S1, Bell
Imperial broke well and led up early. The favvy, Lode
Star broke modestly and was badly crowded at the first. Bell
Imperial skipped clear and Be
Wise Lady plugged on for second.
Wonting
led up in the A5, before Form
Of Love ruined her for pace down the back straight for a
comfortable success. The video man *ucked up here and there was no
pictures shown at the track, so I don't know what the others did.
Directors
Tale made all in the A2. He broke well, moved off the rails and
won well. Sligo
Next, who has been improving of late and ran a sound race in
second. He may still find things tough in A2 grade though.
Droopys
Hepburn made the early running in the S2 finale. But we all knew
she was never going to stay there. Centaur
Iris ran on well and led at the 5th for an easy success. Snappy
Girl was very slow away, outpaced early and was nearest at the
finish, without ever looking likely to be involved in the finish.
