Keen
Promise set the early pace in the opening P9, but could not
sustain the gallop and faded on the run in. Expert
Plan was sent off an unconsidered 8/1 shot, but stayed on to
lead on the run in after getting a nice clear run round the first
two turns.
Firm
Handed was an impressive winner of the hurdles H1 event. Questhouse
Jimmy towed him round for a couple of bends, but was swamped for
pace as Firm
Handed unleashed a nice burst of speed and quickly put the race
to bed.
Sandyhill
Vieri led up in the A8 despite running wide at the first bend
and faded to finish down the field. Star
Potential was modestly away and was crowded at the first bend.
She showed some middle pace and hit the front between the last two
turns and went on to score. Girl
Next Door ran wide at a few bends and still managed to plug on
for second.
Quick
Appeal led up in the S3 event until easing up in front at the
5th bend and fading out of contention. Pennys
Crown covered plenty of yards. After a poor start, Pennys
Crown showed some pace to the first bend. She ran off between
the first two turns and then ran on to hit the front between the
last two bends. Despite running wide at the last bend, She ran
right away from the field.
Target
Dan set a good early pace up front in the P7. He led up until
fading on the run in and Heavy
Weather made the most of the scrimmaging in the race. Look
Here Dan ran on and had a tear up as he challenged on the run
in. The favourite, Centaur
Cappo was slow away and never in the hunt, but unfortunately was
another to get neck ache as he had a major dwell up on the run in
off the pace. I secured the value after the race, taking 6/4 in the
bar about Look
Here Dan not being disqualified. It seems that they have to take
a rival over the fence to get the red card at the stow these days! Seriously,
most owners will have plenty of sympathy and would prefer to see the
RM give them every chance to straighten up and to turn a blind eye
on the first transgression or two. :) Plenty have straightened up
after being give a chance in the past at the Stow. With the
questionable recent driving of the hare at the Stow, it would be
unfair to red card any puppy too soon.
Lockdale
Duke showed a very nice turn of early speed in the A6 and looked
to hold a winning advantage. However, his stride started to shorten
off the last and Ardmayle
Machine had time to dwell and smile for the photo as he
challenged and still won the event by a head. Black
Specta checked off at the second bend and was well beaten.
Droopys
Majella was an impressive winner in the S1. After a modest
break, she unleashed a decent burst of early pace and was a very comfortable
winner. Droopys
Kan Kan ran a decent race in second.
Daisyfield
Bella showed some pace into the first bend after a modest start
and made all from that point for a comfortable success. Ballymac
Daisy kept on for second.
The two Seamus Cahill
trained runners Wise
Digger and Swhimascharl
were bitterly disappointing in the A4 race. This left the way clear
for an impressive win by Swift
Satin who cracked out and made all for a comfortable success. Eye
Onthe Spark plodded on for second.
Craigdales
Ruby led Ebony Ocean
in the M2 when the hare was stopped for safety reasons. Most thought
Ebony Ocean was set to win, but
he did seem to be taking a fair time to get on terms.
Adamant
Laser led up in the A3 race before succumbing to Royal
Officer, who showed good pace to take up the running from the
3rd bend. Daisyfield
Matti kept on for second.
Addington
Ruby made the early running in the A3, but was outpace from the
3rd bend. Rough
Charley kept on to lead at the 4th bend and went on to score
from the staying on Clonbony
Jubub.
Denwood
Star made all to land the A1 event. Blue
Rizzler matched him for pace to the 3rd bend and the pair were
locked together for much of the race. Blue
Rizzler is none too strong a finisher, but only went down by
half a length. The rest finished down the khazi.
