It
was 1st round to the punters as Chadwell
Scholes was strongly supported in the opening A9 and made no
mistake here, making all. Prodigal
Fireran middle on the run up, showed some pace to the first
bend, moved off at the second bend and kept on for second. Granary
Girl showed a semblance of promise behind. She was very slow
away, but grabbed the ground late on and went ok to the pick up.
Cheerful
Chic took off in the second A9. Cheerful
Chic hit the front early doors and stretched right away. Cheerful
Chic is a daughter of Spot The Fools, who made it up to a decent
level at the Stow. Honcho
Chance kept on for a distant second.
The third
A9 (f*cking hell!) was not a race to savour. Three different leaders
and only five runners! Raithby
Patricia went round on the draw for a bit. Warrior
Sumo took over briefly on the back straight, before Lews
Trickster took over at the third bend.
Lika
Narrow cracked out and made all in the A8 for Mr Cable and
Graham Sharp. True
Moll kept on for second, but dwelled up on the run in. Prideofprincipal
screwed up on the run in and Lady
Allied ran appallingly.
Rubette
was well supported in the second A8 of a thrilling evenings racing.
She led up , but could not hold the strong running Romford
Carthree, who finished and ran very well. Romford
Carthree walked out of the traps, but took the first two bends
well and showed plenty of promise here for the Romford minicab firm.
Terry
My Pal broke modestly, but showed a nice turn of early and
railed well. He made all, but looked vulnerable from the last turn. Marokaga
stayed on for second.
The lead changed hands a
number of times in the S2. Snappy
Girl broke smartly, but was particularly disappointing from the
3rd bend. Double
Top (the short priced favvy) quickened up and looked set to
score. He got a bit lonely in front and Centaur
Driver stayed on to lead on the run in.
Race 8
and we're up to the heady height of A7. Perhaps I am in a parallel
universe and am actually reporting from an afternoon Bags meeting.
It's hard to tell, other than the fact that it's dark and I have
sunk a fair few lagers. :) Anyway, back to the action. Jalee
Storm led up until fading on the run in and succumbing to Dysert
Cara, who won in a bunch scramble to the line in a very slow
time. There was lots of trouble in behind.
Pinehurst
Silk comfortably landed short odds in the next A7. Journey
Star broke very slowly , ran middle and stayed on for a distant
second. If either Jeremy
or Different
Gravy win anytime soon I'll be very surprised.
The
A6 was another messy race. All
Clued Up led up despite a modest break and looked beaten before
running into trouble at the third bend. Smoking
Jet showed screws pace on the run in and had yet another fight
on the run in. If Smoking
Jet was not owned by a high profile owner, he would have got the
red card long ago. Steeple
Rd Blond scrambled home for a debut success from a peach of a
draw on the fence in yet another slow time.
Run
Along cracked out and made all for a decent success in the A5. Fall
In Line took the bends respectably this week and plugged on for
second.
In the second A5, July
Captain ran a mirror image race of his litter mate early on.
Time for a cut and paste job! July
Captain broke modestly, but showed a nice turn of early pace. He
made all, but looked vulnerable on the run in. Night
Night challenged and was force to check at the third bend and
was a little unlucky. Form
Of Love kept on for 3rd.
Treacle
Rose showed a good turn of early speed after a modest break to
make all in the A3.Kilgraney
Agassi didn't come away too well and ran on without ever looking
likely to get on terms.
True
Frankie led up in the S2 finale. He relinquished the lead for a
few turns to the favvy Julies
Protege. However Julies
Protege did not look to sound from the fifth bend and True
Frankie took over the lead and went on to win. Centaur
Iris plugged on for second.
