The
favourite in the opening A8 Ringview
Rascal looked home and hosed after showing a decent burst of
early pace after a modest break. He ran out of gas and faded from
between the last two bends. Ziggy
Sawdust was sent off an unconsidered 7/1 shot, but belied those
odds and came home well to lead between the last two bends. Ringview
Rascal is by the 1997 oaks winner Flashy Get and should do ok.
Questhouse
Jimmy went off a short priced favourite in the hurdles event and
never gave his supporters a moments anxiety. He cracked out of the
boxes and made all. Windgap
Henry finished a long second.
Lockdale
Duke was another well supported favourite and looked set for a
comfortable success after leading early in the P7. His stride
shortened from between the last two bends and he scrambled home from
Beardys
Lex Anne, who stayed on to finish a neck second. Lockdale
Duke was returning from a 16 day break and may have need the
race a bit.
I was put away by my trainer in the S2.
:( My bitch Droopys
Kestrel turned close behind the early pace setter Time
Connection and took over at the 4th bend for a comfortable
success. The rest were out with the washing, though Centaur
Iris did suffer first bend interference.
Dark
Fantasy made all to land the A6. He tied up on the run in , but
held on from Bit
View Joy, who held every chance, but was one paced on the run
in. On his Irish form, Bit
View Joy should be performing a bit better than this.
Phoenix
Gerry made a winning debut in the A6. He stumbled off the second
bend but ran on to take the lead off the early pace setter Mystical
Music at the 3rd bend. His owner does not buy slow dogs.
Wise
Digger led up early in the A4, but ran wide off the last bend
and was nailed on the line by Pepsi
Chick. Im
Snoopy showed plenty of pace on the straights, but was a long
way from fluent at the bends.
Droopys
Top Lad was the most impressive winner of the night in the A3. Adamant
Laser broke smartly, was wide at the first bend and was swamped
for pace by Droopys
Top Lad, who came home strongly and led near the 3rd bend. Droopys
Top Lad recorded a decent 28.89, the fastest time of the night.
Pennys
Britney made all in the other S1. Ingenious
broke poorly, but came home well for second. Shelbourne
Thesa was modestly away, ran wide at the second bend and ran
moderately.
Perceptive
Pacey returned to form in the A2. He broke well and made all. King
Forever turned handy enough, but could never get on terms. Special
Trip stayed on for 3rd.
Fear
Mykeo won the second A2 comfortably. She was slightly slow to
get into her stride, but unleashed a nice burst of early pace and
quickly put the race to bed. Sligo
Next broke well, but could not get on terms. He was caught for
second by Classy
Star who stayed on well after a slow start.
Pennys
Viva was yet another to make all in the A1 race. Noirs
Heart turned handy, but could not get on terms.
The
bookies got the money in the finale, an S2. Cool
Nelly was sent off at a ridiculously short 4/5 shot, was tailed early
doors and made a little late ground without ever threatening to get
on terms. Unlikely
Hotshow led for a few bends before going into reverse gear. Craigdales
Ruby turned a handy looking second, but did not really seem to
be chasing. Bell
Sensational was slow away and then showed some early pace. After
some bunching up front, she led at the 4th bend to win in a slow
40.92. The winning time shows just how poorly Craigdales
Ruby ran.
