Walthamstow Report
10 Apr 2007
An average Tuesday graded card. Report from the
video, I missed a night at the Stow for the first time in ages.
(other than my holiday)
In the opening A9, Leemount
Nik was slow away but drove the bend well and led at the 4th
bend and won in a photo. Nelsons
Patch was very slow away and finished well, but just failed.
Race 2 was not filmed. Touchwood
Dream won it in a decent 29.46 for an A8.
Questhouse
Jimmy showed eye catching pace in the hurdles H2, but was a bit erratic.
He was crowded as Westgate
Cars moved off as he challenged between the last two bends. Ballymacs
Back got a lucky run and led between the last two bends and held
on narrowly.
Cracking
Ceilidh was an impressive winner of the A7. In a race lacking
early pace, his 5.06 was enough to get him round the bend. Different
Gravy showed a semblance of pace, but eased at the bends as
normal.
Those with form in the following A7 looked a
pretty modest bunch. It was no surprise to see one of the newcomers
take the race. True
To Rachel probably should have won the race as she challenged,
but was badly crowded at the 3rd bend. Kensington
Court made the running early, before folding tamely. Bell
Tempest and All
Clued Up were both very slow away. They were both staying on
when the trouble happened up front. All
Clued Up was just ran out of it close home by Bell
Tempest.
The S4 shitters event saw Issy
Bee produce another blinding start. However, she collapsed again
to finish down the field. Sligos
Win hit the front briefly at the 5th bend before Shan
Rica led on the run in. Shan
Rica had eased at the 4th and 5th, but still managed to get on
top of this sorry lot.
Kilgraney
Agassi was absolutely thrown in in this A6 on his Irish form. Run
Along held up the price after he was downgraded after a decent
showing in an A5. Kilgraney
Agassi absolutely routed his field and recorded a smart 28.95 in
the process. He'll be up for a minimum double upgrade next time.
Swift
Satin showed some pace on her debut, but was wide at too many
bends. Julies
Protege won on her first race back from season, despite easing
at the 3rd bend.
Siesta
Romeo showed plenty of promise on his debut in the A4, but could
not land my attempted punt. Droopys
Sibin was very slow away, but finished well to grab the lead
near the line. Siesta
Romeo will be very much one to follow in the coming weeks as the
handbrake is let off.
Owtoftowna
cracked out and continued her good form to land the S1. She was wide
at most of the bends, but still had enough in hand to hold off Pennys
Lindsay, who stayed on for second.
Sparta
Master made the running in the A3, but faded on the run in. Reachfar
Gifted kept on and led on the run in.
It was a Crying
Shame for the bookies as the evens favvy showed some back
straight pace to land the second A3. Iona
Prince set the early pace and went down fighting in second.
Eye
Onthe Star made all to win the A2 in a decent 28.97. Shrewd
Rambler stayed on for second. Special
Trip looked lame at the 3rd turn.
Witches
Petal produced a modest break, but got a clear run and made all
from that point to land the S3 piss-poor finale.
