Saturday's card was an average graded card. The ground was particularly
fast, as some fast times were recorded by some average dogs.
Lockdale
Duke won the P8 as a well supported favourite. He was wide +
bumped at the start, but ran on well to lead at the 3rd bend. Marathon
Girl kept on ok for second.
The H2 was a grim
old affair. Ballymacs
Back led up and faded after a few iffy jumps. Blue
Meadow Lad was slow away and kept on and led on the run in. Windgap
Henry plodded on for second.
July
Captain was another well supported winner. Priced up a generous
7/2 shot, his priced was forced into 2/1 at the off. He produced a
modest break, but railed well and led at the first and kept on
pulling to land the race. Twilight
Fantasy turned with every chance and closed the gap to half a
length at the line.
The first S1 went to an
outsider as Owtoftowna
made all. Cassie
went down the back straight with every chance, but could not get on
terms with the leader. Sofem
was unfortunately knocked over between the first two bends.
The
A6 was won by Zoot,
who showed some EP after a modest break to make all. Pinehurst
Silk just failed to catch him.
The A5 saw
another short favvy win. Mountjoy
Silver was bumped at the start, but showed some early boot and
won the race comfortably.
There were 4 in a
line on the run to the first bend in the second A5. Any
Ceilidh and Droopys
Top Lad swung round to contest the lead and Any
Ceilidh showed the better pace to take it up near the 3rd bend.
Reverse
Pace produced a fast start and made all despite checking at the
2nd bend. He recorded the fastest time of the night. Fenland
Lark put in a challenge at half way, but could not sustain the
gallop. Pennys
Vixen kept on ok for second.
The second S1
featured an impressive winner in Go
Princess. She could be one to follow. She showed improved form
here.
Luas
Lasrach broke well in the first A3, but faded on the run in
again. Lockdale
Prince kept on and led on the run in. Lady
Asher looked beaten when she got done at the 3rd bend. Iona
Prince stayed on for second.
Monte
Alban made all to land the second A3. Old
Jamaikey ran ok, but settled for second again.
Not
So Jolly won an incident packed A2. Addington
Ruby went middle and was crowded on the run up, but kept on well
afterwards. She was a somewhat unlucky loser and can win soon.
