The
opening Div 2 maiden went to the favourite King
Forever who broke well and made all. Beardys
Rooney showed some EP but was smashed up at the first bend.
The
first of two hurdles opens (Div 2) was won by Xamax
Mr Grumpy who led at the first hurdle and held off the 2006
Springbok winner Kaysers
Hill who again did not seem too keen to pass.
Div
one of the hurdles opens was won by Castledale
Lad who is owned by the lads from the sadly demised CH 854. Jos
Cigar set the early pace before Castledale
Lad took over on the run in. Farloe
Lugs looked like he may get involved, but was smashed up at the
3rd corner.
Genesis
Sister cut out the early running in the Div 2 stayers race after
a smart break, but she could not hold Foulden
Special, who was not too fluent at the bends, but showed plenty
of pace to lead near the line.
The Div 3 open was
won in impressive fashion by the Ernie Gaskin trained Erinaceous
Star. He has often promised to deliver a bit more, but was
impressive here. Questhouse
Sash showed some pace to the first after a modest break and kept
on for second. Snoozys
Palace showed plenty of pace, but stumbled between the last two
turns and faded.
The 430 open was won by the Gary
Baggs trained Tanner
Butler. Emporio
Viscount went middle from the trap 5 and left a nice bit of room
for Tanner
Butler. Jangos
Hero moved off the rails and was bumped at the 2nd bend.
Gottabe
Magic was very impressive in the veterans race. He showed some
blinding early speed and they did not see which way he went. Malbay
Nikita stayed on for second.
The first marathon
went to an outsider in Droopys
Kan Kan. She broke well and made all.
January
Tiger showed some excellent early pace to win the Div 1 stayers
event. He pulled away from his field and sustained the gallop to
comfortably hold off the staying on Emporio
Jet.
Ronnies
Earner has found his form with a vengeance and he roared home to
win in a fast 28.64 in the Div 2 standard.
Not
So Jolly showed some decent early pace to lead up and make all
in the Div 1 maiden. Lughill
Sammy ran on for second.
Cobra
Striking showed her customary early burst to lead up in the Div
1 standard. Jazz
Hurricane produced one of her better breaks and flew past Cobra
Striking at the third bend to land a very impressive win. What a
shame her form dipped in the Arc.
Classy
Star won the novice stayers race comfortably despite giving away
lots of ground running wide at several bends. Go
Princess set a decent pace, but could not live with Classy
Star from the 5th bend.
