Report 10 Mar 2007
Stow_judge reporting from York from the videos.
The opening P8 was won by True To Rachel, who showed a nice turn
of early speed after being crowded on the run up to lead at the 3rd.
(I previously noted the EP characteristic of this litter) Appletown
Drogba led up to that point before fading.
A shocking hurdles event followed, where Windgap Henry was badly
outpaced to the first but still had too many guns for this motley
crew. Castleivy Sand looked as if he would make all, but the wheels
fell off as he clouted a hurdle down the back straight and lost all
chance. Vinnos Magic fell at the 1st hurdle.
Time Connection was downgraded in the S3 and dead heated in a
poor event joining the leader for the 2nd time near the line. Shes
So Bright towed her along before sharing the spoils on the line.
Fahoura Girl broke fairly well and led at the 2nd bend to land
the A7. In behind, Twilight Fantasy stayed on for 2nd. Bowlers
Bullet was not fluent at the 3rd corner.
Many of the field held chances in the P6. Kinda Sure broke well,
but faded on the run in. Tenbucks Ebony was fairly slow away, moved
off at the first before staying on and holding every chance. Cunning
Darby bottled it at the 3rd. Many Memories ran on and led between
the last two turns.
Kilgrany Agassi was a NR in the A6. I believe he lost a nail in
the paddock. Bobs Express was slightly wide at the first, but made
all the running. Adamant Laser may have naused up the chances of
Kilgrany Agassi anyhow, as he was wide at the traps and also at the
bends.
Despite not being the strongest of stayers, Outoftowna's early
should win her share of graded staying races as her early pace often
gives her a chance. She cracked out here, went wide at the bends and
made all. Drominboy Iseki held every chance, but bottled it at the
5th bend.
Hellroad Minnie made all to land the A5. She was erratic on the
run up, dwelt at the 4th, but still made all. In behind, Talvara
Castle eased at the first, Layham Lass stayed on and held every
chance and Maneen Haka was smashed up at the first.
Arry Olt notched up another win but had to fight for it this
time. (not literally) Pinta Maggots led up before easing at the 3rd
corner. Lockdale Prince stumbled at the start and stayed on well. He
should be winning soon.
There were plenty of disappointing performances in the S1. Take
nothing away from Genesis Sister, who has been running very well.
She made all here to win her 4th race from her last six Walthamstow
races. Fear Martina got badly impeded at the first bend, but eased
at the 3rd bend following this. Oscars Market showed some fair
middle pace, but could not get on terms with Genesis Sister.
Denwood Star showed some decent middle pace in the A3, but again
found one to good. This is becoming a habit. Mystical Chief stayed
on from off the pace to lead near the line. Granard Sam and Iona
Prince ran poorly in behind.
Clonbrin Owl broke smartly in the A2, taking a middle course on
the run up. She made most of the running but could not hold the
strong late challenge of Lissivigeen Mary. Lissivigeen Mary seemed
to check at the 2nd bend, but came home well.
The A1 resulted in the second dead heat of the evening.
Comeontheblues led up until getting impeded at the 3rd bend. She
really put it down to grab a draw. Ross Fortune is starting to
perform a bit more consistently and ran on and barged his way
through to lead between the last two turns before being joined on
the line. Shelbourne Ryan did not look too sound in behind.
The complexion of the last changed as Ellron and Be Wise Lady led
up the field, but came together at the first. Grumpy Joe and
Mystical Class got lucky and made a race of it. Grumpy Joe's
stamina gave way off the last turn. Mystical Class kept on and took
it up on the run in. Five Card Trick was checking like a bastard in
behind.
