Report 06 Mar 2007
A grim-to-modest Tuesday graded card.
I missed the first. Intrepid
made all, I'm told..
In the A9, Optimistic
Cindy made the early running ran wide, and ran poorly. Flying
Tonite was slow away, showed some pace to the first, led at
1/2W, but faded on the run in. Fitzie
was slow away, middle, showed some pace to the first, kept on and
led on the run in.
The tremendous H1 (not really) was an open looking event. Alis
Amigo ran very well last time in a lower class event, but had a tricky
draw drawn outside the fast starting Questhouse
Jimmy. This was to prove his undoing, as Questhouse
Jimmy got in his way early doors. Dixies
Silver (backed by "Lucky" Jim Austin) got a charmed
run and led at the 3rd turn. Alis
Amigo ran well and is one to keep on the right side of.
An awful A8 was won by Met
Your Match who had some respectable Irish form and won despite
being trained by John Sherry. (ouch!) There were some truly awful
"performances" in behind, that do not merit any comment.
Pennys
Britney screamed home in the S2, where several of her rivals performed
below par. Craigdales
Ruby finished 2nd despite going through the motions.
The A7 finally featured some runners of interest. Beardys
Lex Anne showed lots of promise in second. His owners have a bob
or two between them. I believe they own a horse or two.
Seamus's two did not run to kennel orders and messed one another up.
Westgate
Cars looked to be very much the best of the two. The experienced
runner Son
Of Iris ran on, led at the 3rd and won fairly comfortably.
The next A7 was a shocking event. The front two in the market
were turned over and one of the rags Cooly
Captain landed the event. This was another winner for Lord Lucan.
Race 8 and we were up to the heady height of A6. Droopys
Kestrel broke well, but took an eternity to turn the bend and
got back into her stride way too late. Finlays
Charm was fairly slow away, got a clear run and led off the 2nd.
Luck Mentor made the running in the A4 but her stamina gave way
from the final turn. Dalcash Survivor broke modestly, drove the
bend, stumbled at the 3rd bend, but still managed to lead on the run
in. Eyeonthe Glory and Black Specta eased at the first bend in
behind.
A dreadful S4 followed, where Aimwell led from 2/3 till dwelling
at the final turn. Sligos Win plugged on and won the event in a
photo.
Caros Catalus broke fairly well and led the A4 till the 3rd bend
before fading on the run in. Eyeonthe Flyer was slow away, got a
clear run and kept on to lead on the run in. Corcra Agus Or
challenged at the 3rd bend, but was badly crowded.
The veteran Wally broke ok and led on the draw to land the
A3. In behind, Droopys Sibin eased at the first and King And Tinker
had a dwell up at the 3rd.
Droopys Faldo made all to land a weak A2. In behind, January
Sailor was 2 paced from the 4th, Re Implicitly ran very poorly.
Reachfar Gifted lobbed round and Siesta Moonlight stayed on after a
poor break.
Pennys Lindsay made all to land the last comfortably. Nothing
else in the race merits a mention.
