Delias’s
cooking! –
Walthamstow
Report 15 Feb 2007
A pretty grim graded card was
offered up to punters tonight. Many declined the invitation. I
missed the first two races. The A8 looked to be going the way of Optimistic
Lucky as he took a clear lead early on. Scooter
Man was pretty slow away, got impeded at the 2nd bend
but came home strongly and led on the line.
The dreadful S3 featured some
really shocking performers. Rumour
Has It cut out the early running, but could not contain Toosey
Tina as she came at him off the home turn.
I thought the P7 was one of the
best races of the night. Millwards
Angel improved a lot last time and looked well drawn. Droopys
Jimmy had shown promise, but looked to have an iffy draw. Lens
Return looked to be another promising sort, who had lacked a yard
of pace early to date. Twilight
Fantasy was a well bred newcomer from the Seamus Cahill kennel. Droopys
Jimmy was wide out of the traps and also moved off at the bend and
put paid to his and Lens
Return chances. Millwards
Angel broke fairly well and made all. Twilight
Fantasy showed some promise, staying on quite well for 2nd.
My impression after the race was that the front two were somewhat
flattered by the form.
Lens
Return is the one I’d like to have taken home from these.
Newline
Mentor broke averagely, but swung round in front off the 2nd
turn in the A7. She quickly folded at the 3rd turn and Droopys
Delia romped home. Droopys
Delia was ex season, had some fair 6 bend form on her card and
slaughtered her field here.
Moses turned up in the P6 race and
parted the field at the first bend to allow Brigadoon
the clearest run you ever did see in the P6. He made very heavy
weather of the race and scrambled home from Droopys
Madam, who held every chance.
Those that were asking Wheres
Bibby before the start of the of the A6 where left in no doubt as
she catapulted out of the boxes and roared home. Sudoku
put in a puzzling performance and trailed in well down the numbers. Different
Gravy isn’t any more.
The S3 was another appalling excuse
for a race. True
Frankie was one another for the landlord and took it up as Quick
Appeal folded up near the line after cutting out most of the
running.
In the A5, Black
Specta returned to the stow, but had not had much racing in his
time away. He was formerly A1 Romford and A3/2 W’stow, but eased
at the 2nd after a showing a little early. January
Student preformed exactly as expected. Fairly slow away, early pace
led till faded on the run in. Mystical
Class was slow away, got a clear run, kept on and led on the run
in.
Funcheon
Rebel was another this evening who showed some excellent early
pace, however he could not contain the strong finishing Classy
Star who came home with a real rattle.
The A2 was won in impressive
fashion by the Seamus Cahill trained Get
On Blackie who broke smartly and did not see another rival. The short
favvy Boy
Becca did not look sound. War
Of Attrition stayed on from off the pace for second.
Luas
Lasrach broke smartly in the A2 and led to the run in. Sophie
Rose showed some decent pace and led on the run in.
The S2 looked to be going to Knockane
Picotee who led at the 4th
and looked to be given the race as Droopys
Mappa was clumsy at the 5th
bend. However, Knockane
Picotee’s stamina gave way
and Droopys
Mappa picked him up near
the line.
