A
spin round Harlow work worked wonders again –
Walthamstow
Report 03 Feb 2007
An average graded card opened with
a modest P9. Gleaming
Carly produced a decent break and made all. The short priced
favourite Remember
Bill was a never nearer 3L 2nd.
The lead changed hands a few times
in a modest S2 where the 3rd leader, Pigalle
Lass stayed on to lead on the run in to put another short priced
favourite (Reddmac
One) away.
After an average start, Kinda
Sure went through the eye of a needle to lead up at the 2nd
bend. Go
Figure‘s steering let her down here as she chucked it away at the
bends. Kinda
Sure stayed on much better than on his first two starts and
should do ok.
The modest A7 went the way of the
well fancied Gary Baggs trained Schwarzer,
as punters finally got a favvy home. The short runner Treacle
Bell
cut out the early dash before fading on the run in.
Another favvy went in in the S1,
where the gallant Annes
Honcho made most of the running. Paxton
Prince got in Annes
Honcho’s way for a few bends, otherwise she may have won here. Genesis
Sister joined in on the run in after a bump at the first and lead
close home.
Arry
Olt fluffed his lines at the start and Falcon
Flight broke smartly and landed another 4 bend race when making
all. Arry
Olt
showed plenty of pace and he’ll do all right. He does not look
quite as good as his brother Lens Return though.
Corcra
Agus Or landed a bit of a touch for me as he got a charmed run and
stayed on to lead at the 4th turn in the A5. Centaur
Iris looked the most likely threat, but Greenfield
Fawn stayed on pretty well to grab 2nd.
Corcra
Agus Or seemed over fairly graded on his Irish form.
Coolanga
Flyer was impressive in landing the better of the two S1 races. Mitzie
turned more than handy, but could not peg back Mark Wallis’s dog.
Two spins round Harlow revitalised Coolanga
Flyer here as he stepped up markedly on his recent form.
A modest and competitive A4 was
landed by Classy
Star.
Retribution
led up, but never got away from his field and capitulated tamely
from between the last two bends.
Optimistic
Henry was chucked in on his old form in the A3. Allowed to go off
at a generous 5/1, he made all here to beat a motley crew.
Irate
Kate went off a strongly backed favourite in the M1. It looked as
if Silbury
Ruby would win as she led between the 3rd and 4th
bends. However she folded tamely from the 7th and Irate
Kate took up the invitation and quickly put the race to bed.
Luas
Lasrach
broke smartly and looked home and hosed in the A2. Favourite punters
had chucked their tickets away as Who
Needs Wings produced a tardy start and checked up at the bend.
They were scampering on the floor to find their tickets as Who
Needs Wings came from an impossible position to get up in the
shadow of the post. If there was in running betting, Who
Needs Wings would surely have touched 100 plus here.
The A1 was marred by a particularly
disappointing run from the formerly brilliant Vancouver
Sparky. He looked lame. This was another for the “Harlow system”
as Armies
Plan picked up Optimistic
Berty between the last two bends.
Optimistic
Berty and Armies
Plan had a good buckle and came together between the last two
bends. The better dog on the night won here though.
The veteran Droopys
Puma landed a fair touch
for connections in the S2. He returned
6/1 from an opening 12/1 and clung on by a head from the
pacey checker Eternal
Flame.
