On
an earner -
Walthamstow
Report 27 Jan 2007
There was a fair open race card
with some decent dogs competing for the usual buttons. The first
favourite Courts Ad Be absolutely bolted from
the traps and never saw another rival when making all in the opener.
Blackmagic Guy somehow got in division two of the stayers but
made a mockery of this assessment when leading off the 4th
bend. Rockchase Lilly looked a threat after showing some fair
EP, but was spiked as Blackmagic Guy took up the running. Rockchase
Lilly kept on well after. Pork Pie made all to land an
uncompetitive 430 race. Black Taxi did not run the bends at
all well but ran ok. In the hurdles event many would have expected Strong
Flow to give Snazzy Time plenty to think about early on.
However, Snazzy Time produced an electric burst of early
and held off Strong Flow. In truth Strong Flow looked
unlucky here as Snazzy Time stole a march early doors, but
the result would surely had been different had they broke level. Melon
Twister broke smartly in the marathon and cut out most of the
running before his stamina gave way. The well backed Highly Tried
ran wide at the bends, but got her head in front where it mattered.
The consistent Astute
Gift added another win to his tally when breaking well from the
coffin box and making all in the puppy standard. This was his last
run as a puppy. He landed a commendable 10th win from 35
starts here.
Foulden
Special turned over the short priced favourite
when making all in the puppy stayers event. The favvy Big Brett
Coal ran dismally here.
Bigbadassassian
shot his rivals to pieces when making all
to land the Div 2 standard. In truth he did not face too much
opposition as Milldean Flash and Courts Ad Queen were
checking all over the place behind. The marathon was a sham of a
mockery, of a mockery of a sham. Astute Star had the race at
her mercy, only to weaken/dwell from the last bend. Irate Kate and Willington
Spot shared the spoils. Willington Spot looked to be
weakening from the 7th, but stuck his head out in the
bunch finish.
The stayers Div 1
looked a match between Daisyfield Seani and Swift Maggie.
Daisyfield Seani broke and was surprisingly outpaced early. Swift
Maggie broke averagely and showed smart EP to lead. Swift
Maggie held on to win and despite Daisyfield Seani showing
good pace, she did not look sound.
In one of the best
races to be seen at the Stow for a very long time, Trained
Assassin showed some really nice early pace, but could not live
with the pace of Jazz Hurricane and Diesel Loco.
Jazz Hurricane flew down the back straight to pick up Trained
Assassin at the 3rd bend and Diesel Loco broke
very slowly but came home with a real rattle to run Jazz
Hurricane to a length.
Snappy
Girl broke well and led her field a merry dance,
but could not sustain the gallop as Confident Foe came at her
late on.
Ronnies
Earner was extremely impressive in the maiden.
Despite looking far from fully wound up, he was really impressive
after breaking moderately and showing awesome pace and some gameness
when holding off Ross Fortune, who lost no caste in defeat here and
surely will be winning soon. Genesis Sister made all to land
the lucky last.
Ones to Note
Ronnies Earner (One
to follow)
Jazz Hurricane (Class)
Diesel Loco (Can win plenty of races over 4-6 bends)
Ross Fortune (Consistency
will be rewarded)
Ones to avoid
Milldean Flash and Courts Ad Queen (checking all over the place)
