Park Handicap sprint class 2 5F Good Good to soft
Horses to consider
Hows She Cuttin (4/1) - Likely to go
of at quite a short price for this sprint handicap as she is the
first of the runners to be turned out from the lightening course
breaking listed race at Ayr at the weekend just gone and it will be
interesting to see how she gets on under conditions that should be
much more to her liking in which she can maintain the gallop over
and this could well be her race this season with everything set for
a big run with Thursday racing giving draw clues to being drawn high
in this handicap even though on the five furlong track a low draw in
this race has been the place to be. The run at Ayr just five days
ago was under conditions that would have been more then fast enough
for this daughter of Shinko Forest and the mare will be much more at
home under tonight's conditions and the yard are starting to find
winners, even though the string usually continue there form over
winter in the earlier months of the year. Low weight is eye catching
and the dazzler is kept for the ride.
Buachaill Dona (10/1) -providing it
stays dry this talented gelding could give Dandy Nichols yet another
sprint handicap winner this season and a 3rd in this race in the
last ten years. Drawn from a low draw he has plenty of pace to make
his own running and if ridden in a aggressive manner he can justify
being the first choice of the stable in this handicap. Hasn't been
overly tried this season so far since getting back from Dubai where
his six furlong run behind turn on the style stands up amongst some
of the best form in this race as he dwelt at the start and still
made eye catching movement in the race to finish a close enough 3rd
place. The run at Chester over five furlongs he lost his chance
early with a tardy start and given that track suiting prominent
runner he done well to finish as close as he did, has had limited
amount of runs over the minimum trip but in my view he looks a
typical sprint type for this trip and if getting away well could
well take all the beating. Was highly fancied in this last season
before being withdrawn of account of the ground.
Green Park (7/1) - Last years winner
has been well fancied for some handicaps this season and hasn't
landed a blow in those races and now finds himself defending his
title in this race of a mark lower then he won off 12 months ago and
the run in the same Chester race as Buchaill Dona should see him go
close with conditions and track much more to his suiting. Another
that may not have the best draw based on the races yesterday, but a
winner from a low number last year shows that it isn't totally cut
and dry and with some ease in the ground he could start Richard
Fahey run of landing big northern handicaps off well here. His
performance that he recorded in this race last season is in the top
3 races recorded by the runners in this race so the fact that he is
at the right end of the handicap is a added bonus and should go
close in this race this season.
