2.10 Kempton Five-furlong
sprint handicap Class 4 Going Standard
1. Yungabarra – Very well
suited to this surface and often runs his best races on pollytrack.
Ideally shaped for sprinting he has got much in his favour today
with track suiting and a solid enough run behind Northern Empire at
Southwell two runs back to his name. The last two runs he hasn’t
built on and this looks just as tough as those races.
Tissue Price – 6/1
2. Diane’s Choice – Loves
this track and rarely puts a foot wrong around here and has to be of
interest off this mark in this company having taken much better
targets then this through out the summer, ideally suited to sprint
distances and five furlongs in a small field is ideal for her and
with this track suiting more then Lingfield she can make good use of
her return to this track having faced some top quality sprinters in
recent months.
Tissue Price – 2/1fav
3. Northern Empire – Already
taken the scalp of Yungabarra at southwell and meets on worse terms
here for that win, however he could easily confirm the form as he
has been steadily improving since the change of yards. Has to prove
that pollytrack suits as much as fibre sand today having shown
little on sole start on polly track at Wolverhampton back in
November. Well suited to sharp 5F tests and having gone well for
Neil Callen in the past makes him a real threat in this handicap
today.
Tissue Price – 7/2
4. Magic Glade – Has
struggled with the handicapper since winning back-to-back races at
Wolverhampton and is one of the most exposed handicappers in the
race today. Suited to the conditions of the race today and is
usually on top form this time of year he may bounce back to form
today but looks slightly up against it with the top three all more
progressive then this 9yo.
Tissue Price – 8/1
5. Financial Times – Another
very exposed handicapper but one that has a impeccable record on the
all weather for a horse that is tried so often over sprint trips on
this surface, One of the most consistent horses in training if
lacking in class he has paid his way with many solid races and even
though he isn’t likely to win this race today, he should once again
give his running and be there about in the finish.
Tissue Price – 7/1
6. Dressed to Impress – Gives
the impression there is more to come but looks burdened with the
expectation of being good enough of making it at this level. Not the
most consistent of performers but has been tried many times at this
sprint distance on short career so far, needs improvement to win
this and may be best when sights are lowered a little.
Tissue Price – 10/1
7. Almaty Express – Non-runner.
Tissue prices – Diane’s Choice 2/1, Northern Empire 7/2,
Yungabarra 6/1, Financial Times 7/1, Magic Glade 8/1, Dressed to
Impress 10/1.
Verdict – Not a
bad looking sprint handicap for a wet Tuesday and Diane’s Choice
should bring a ray of sunshine to her backers today, as she has
talent when given the correct race to run in. Only six runners go to
post and Northern Empire looks the biggest threat with ability to
confirm the form with Yungabarra, who he beat cosily enough at
Southwell last time.
Selection –
Diane’s Choice 2pts @ 9/2 (BF9/2) &
3pts place @ 11-10 (BF7/4)
Best of luck all
Well Chief
