5.00 E.B.F Gallagher Group
Supporting Demelza Fillies Handicap Class 3 10F Good to firm (3yo+
0-90)
1 - Sunlight - No match for
Les Fazzani over a mile at Kempton and was sent off favourite for
the Oaks trial back in May, so was highly thought off before having
her sights lowered. A narrow winner latest at Haydock over a mile
and is being tried back over middle distances after flopping in the
Oaks Trail. She may be better then her mark still,, but needs to
prove her stamina here today, which she should. The 4lbs penalty
isn't too harsh against her sex group here. The trip should suit on
breeding at this stage of her career, with the sire stats stacking
up well for middle distance off springs at this age.
My Tissue Price - 1-1
2 - Postage Stampe - Taking
on young horses in this potentially decent fillies race for the
track,, but is still fairly unexposed, having been lightly
campaigned since winning her first two races. A winner at the track
on debut, this is her first start back here and her trainer does
very well at this track with his limited amount of runners. Beaten
on her last two starts over 10F, she may benefit back against her
same sex group. The handicapper is giving her a chance after maybe
over analysing her early form. Another 4lbs dropped after being
eased 7lbs already from last two finishing position. Looking to get
back to her best, she is likely to finish closer this time around,, but
may run into a couple of potentially smart rivals.
My tissue Price - 14/1
3 - Love on Sight - been
outclassed since finishing 3rd at Haydock behind the useful Lovelace
over 7F and takes a massive step up in trip today, in the hope that
it will bring some further improvement out of her, that is clearly
needed, with her being well held at this level behind Docofthebay.
The change to a same sex race may help her further,, but she has to
prove she will appreciate this step up in trip and after failing to
give any signs of winning off 83. She may be best watched today,
even though the ground clearly suits and the jockey booking of Seb
Sanders is a big positive for the yard. Back to the mark where she
ran so well at Haydock, if she stays, she could well be involved and
market movement is most probably the best note to take on her
chances.
My Tissue Price - 7/1
4 - Vale De Lobo - The most
exposed runner in the field and the only runner that has seen the
race course into double figures. Taking on younger fillies that
could be potentially ahead of their current marks will no doubt make
life very difficult for her today. She has battled on well in her
last three starts and is guaranteed to see this 10F, out which gives
her an advantage over most of her rivals today. A reproduction of
her Chester form last season over 10F on Good to firm ground will
have her in with a shot of upsetting the more fancied youngsters.
The handicapper has got her in with a chance,, but that Chepstow win
over 12F was a muddling affair, where she got a peach of a ride from
Ted Durcan who gets on well with her.
My Tissue Price - 7/1
5 - Free Offer - Won a
Newbury handicap, which is usually the norm for John Dunlop
handicappers and will be looking to add further races to her
portfolio, as she progress at the weights. In that 10F handicap win
she showed a good attitude to win all out and has really come into
her own after running some poor races early season, which saw her
dropped 7lbs in the handicap. The 5lbs back up in weight may have
her struggling again, but she has her conditions and trip today and
she looked like she was a more willing horse and the drier it gets
the better she will perform, but there has to be a slight concern on
what she beat last time and she may progress when found a similar
type of race to that, but she will stay the trip which is one thing
she has in her favour.
My Tissue Price - 9/1
6 - Miss Marvellous -
Unexposed filly who flopped on her handicap debut after breaking her
maiden tag at the 3rd time of asking. The two earlier maidens
weren't anything special and there may be reason to believe that the
Yarmouth Maiden she won was nothing out the ordinary despite the 3rd
hacking up on second run. Improved for soft surface she should
handle this ground better then she did on her first two runs as her
inexperience played a part in why the runs were so poor. Improvement
is likely as with many of the stable 3yo she could improve to be
come a contender in this race today.
My Tissue price - 7/1
7 - Samidaniya - A winner
over course and distance when a cosy winner of a low grade handicap, where
she dominated from start to finish against the same sex group.
Bottom of the weights for this much tougher task after being raised
4lbs in weight she needs to find improvement to win at this level, but
after a confident booster, where she was much the best horse in the
race she could come on again for a trainer that does well with this
sex group. A handle good to firm ground and has no concern over the
trip she may go close today.
My tissue Price - 9/1
Tissue Prices - Sunlight Evens, Miss Marvellous, Vale De
Lobo, Love on Sight 7/1, Samidaniya, Free offer 9/1, Postage Stampe
14/1
Verdict – The
Favourite could find this easy picking as potentially the smartest
horse in the field and is certain to be backed like she can't lose
this race and has obvious strong claims,, but is there is likely to
be one of the unexposed runners in the field that may upset her if
getting the run of the race. Love on Sight is one to note in the
market and is a massive price currently at 20-1 while the more
proven type in Vale De Lobo is likely to give her running in this
field today with much in her favour, Miss Marvellous could come on
for her handicap debut and rates as a potential danger, but we give
a chance to love on Sight to improve for the step up in trip today
and give the favoured Sunlight the most to do.
Selection –
Love on Sight
win 1pt @ 20-1 (BF22)
