European Premier Preview -
02 Sep 2007
Sulley to make his mark.
Arsenal entertain Portsmouth at the Emirates stadium on Sunday, and
we'll bypass the main markets for a bit of double figure value.
Forget the first goal scorer market, and check out the first card
market. Skybet, Paddy Power, Blue Square and a couple of
others will accept bets on which player will enter the referee's
notebook first.
Portsmouth possess a player with a horrendous disciplinary record.
After a subdued debut at Derby, he was first into the book against
Manchester United, and collected another later in the game to
receive his marching orders. He was then carded again at
Chelsea last week following his one-game suspension. No
surprise to those who have witnessed three seasons of petulance in
Serie A. Talented player Sulley Muntari may be, but when
things aren't going his way, he has a tendency to react with a kick.
Or a pull. Perhaps a moan. Basically in a manner that
often attracts the attentions of even the most lenient arbitrator.
Against a free-flowing Arsenal side, it's quite possible that those
tendencies will once against come to the fore.
To put it simply, he should be the jolly in this market. With
a couple of firms he isn't.:
Arsenal v Portsmouth. 13:30 Sunday.
Selection - 0.25 points Sulley Muntari to receive first card. 12/1
Skybet.
