Barcelona v Real
Betis
Straight to the point. Back Barcelona to keep a clean sheet at
around 1.8 on Betfair.
The recent lack of winning selections owes a lot to the time
spent writing lengthy previews, when I could be putting up more
bets. The bets that are actually winning. Something has to give, so
I'll be keeping it brief in future.
Although Barca don't keep as many clean sheets as they should at
the Nou Camp, Frank Rijkaard appears to have found some defensive
solidity with successive home shutouts against Atletico Madrid and
Almeria. For a side often considered shaky at the back, a record of
seven goals conceded in 13 games this season is fairly impressive.
The real swinger however is Real Betis' away record. The visitors
have only scored one goal on their travels, failing to find the net
in over 400 minutes, since their equaliser at Recreativo Huelva in
week one. It's not just the fact that Hector Cuper's side can't
score, they often don't even attempt to, as witnessed in the
mind-numbing 0-0 draw against Athletic Bilbao last week.
Furthermore, Betis' biggest attacking talent, and leading scorer -
Rafael Sobis - is unavailable. Compared with quotes of 1/5 for the
home win, the 4/5 about a clean sheet looks a steal.
Recommendation: 7.5 pts Barcelona
to keep a clean sheet at 1.8. Betfair.
